MMI issues on PE

Post by mat776 » Tue Oct 11, 2016 8:12 am

I have had some MMI issues on my PE,

1) Radio station doesn't persist - the radio station will often revert to 'Heart - whichever' when I start the car having been on something else when I stopped it.
2) Car forgets Audi Connect Login number after a few days and it needs to be re-entered.
3) Entertainment fader for parking gets set to 'zero' occasionally.

None are particularly serious, more annoying than anything, and I am told it will be fixed with a software update by the end of the year ! but was wondering if anyone has had anything similar ?

Thanks

I don't use the radio but I have to keep typing in the connect code so stopped using it.

Thanks Mike, I remember you mentioning it.
Apparently the factory are working on a fix!
I remember another thread about the entertainment fader but cant remember whether there was an issue or not.

Anyway, if you can be bothered, would you mind leaving the car on radio2 for example and seeing if you end up on heart the next day (it doesnt happen always and doesn't need to be overnight - sometimes hapens when paying for fuel). It would just be interesting if the software problem with the connect login is also connected to the radio memory issue and whether other cars are affected. If not don't worry, I will let you know if I get a fix for mine.

Thanks

Many people experience the issue with the re-entering of the password. Everyone seems to find it just goes away after a week or two.

Sound muting and attenuating is very variable in various situations. The system seems to have a life of its own in this regard.

Haven't experienced the radio station change problem myself.

Is that DAB or analogue radio?

I left it on Kiss last night and it was still like that this morning. Also left it like that this morning as was ok this evening. I'll see again in the morning. I assume you'd have the same issue with Kiss or is it on particular stations? Maybe loses signal and steps to the next one up or down? I'm afraid I don't really know much about DAB (actuallY I'm not afriad, just never used it until yesterday).

I thought about that - but it never happened with my other rs6 - its possible.
I mostly leave it on radio 2 or 5 live and it ends up on heart - something. It happens fairly often but not always and I think it also coincides with the loss of connect pin.
Thanks

I have the same issue with radio.

I use 5 main radio stations and listen to that or iPhone. As you say when i drive off in the morning it seems to always be on Heart when I know it was on 1Xtra or R1 the night before. I wondered if it was triggered by traffic alerts. Local station with traffic alerts being selected as it sends the alert and then the radio staying on that channel ?

It's not something to do with the seat memory is it ? Maybe change radio and set seat on door again

Bmw do this and I think the 911 has it

That's interesting - do you know how 'remote control' key works and what the difference is between the option being on or off ?

Is it that if it is on - every time I turn the ignition off it records various current states and loads them again when I open the car with the same key ?
And if it is off it does not try to be clever depending on which key is used ?

(It seems a little unlikely that this could be the reason because I am not sure why it would lose the connect login in this way, but thanks - its worth investigating re radio and entertainment fader.)

Cheers

I thought about the key, but you have set it to the right station each time you got in the car but it keeps going back so thought it can't be the key.
