My car has used around 5/6 litres of oil for 21k - previous cars have used literally nothing I queried this usage with Audi, and was told that's an acceptable level of consumption.

As per my reply above Chunky - a sudden change at 20k to that level of consumption can not be normal I am afraid.
I know that , you know that, trying to get Audi to understand that especially when there could be a big warranty claim is like hitting your head against a brick wall :audibash:

Found out the other day that on the 2 occasions they had my engine in pieces looking for the initial oil leak they drained my engine and then re-used the oil each time they built it back up. Talk about penny pinching on a £90k car.
I feel your pain 🤦‍♂️

Answer: 8.3 Litres (the Manual's figure) - I watched 8L appear to reach(digital) Max - shortly afterwards the (digital) reading dropped and it looked like it would probably take another 0.3 L to reach Max., but I've kept it there so I can monitor any change (very little yet in the last 1,000 miles), as when its on Max there is no way of knowing if its full (safe) or overfull! Please bring back dip sticks - all is forgiven!!! :audibash:

No, still using circa 0.5 litres per 600 miles. Allegedly within tolerance but they still haven't told me what that is. To keep me quiet they supplied me with 5 litres of oil.

Just found this, intresting you have been told that 0.5ltrs is in acceptance in 600 miles ! I don't see how the garage would want to indeed play this down if there was an issue as they are funded from Audi UK directly do any work undertaken in warranty . I'd say mine is doing close 1 ltr every 1000 miles !
