Seeing as the next RS4 isn't coming anytime soon, I'm temped to swap out my current car for an RS6 instead as the deals available on Broadspeed are very decent at the moment
However, the conundrum them arrives as to whether a standard RS6 would leave me wishing I'd spent a bit extra and bought the Performance edition
I've driven a standard RS6 quite a bit, and loved the car, but would be interested to hear any comparisons from people that have driven both ?
The price difference post discount is £67k vs £73k, and I'd only want to add parking assist as an option

I've only driven the standard car briefly and there was a 2 month gap between droves so can't really comment.
However, standard cars dyno at around 580ps and mine was between 605 and 612 so not a great big difference in peak numbers. I didn't compare the rest of the graph so not sure if there is a bigger difference throughout the normal rev range. I also didn't compare real world torque figures but mine peaked at 888nm.
When it comes down to price would you be getting 21 inch wheels? An optical pack? Sports exhaust? Privacy glass? If so , all of these are already included in the PE Base price so makes the actual difference in price less.

If buying new then the PE is a no brainier.

On a normal C7 by the time you have specced the 21" wheels, styling pack, privacy glass and sports exhaust, you are so close to PE money (which gets all that as standard) that it makes no sense to go for the standard car.

I had a very recent dilemma between a nearly new PE and non PE, both cars same same colour, same age (4 months or so) but the PE had no sunroof, 13k on the clock vs 3k and £5k more. I have test driven a PE before and thought I could feel the tiniest bit of extra pull but not enough to make it a "must have". I've put a deposit on the non-PE car and am currently waiting for it to be available. If I were buying new, well I agree with kmpowell, it makes more sense to buy the performance version. I did a quick calculation a few months ago and came to an real extra cost of maybe £3.5k.

I've done a similar calculation, and make it about the same, but the discount available on the PE is circa £1k greater than the standard model, so a real world difference of £2.5k
The PE has many of the things I'd opt for on the standard car, so the only options I'd want on the PE that cost are Rear Airbags and the Parking pack (reverse camera and sensors)

I know you haven't mentioned the carbon pack but for anyone else reading this with a similar dilema, it is also about 1k cheaper on the PE (I assume because of the inclusion of an optic pack).
