Retrofit Rear Parking Camera

Hello All,
I am in the process of (probably) purchasing an ex demo RS6 which doesn't have the Audi parking pack... so no rear camera. I have been looking at some aftermarket products here:

http://www.carcommunications.co.uk/comp ... -and-a7-4g

http://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/product ... -retrofit/

And need some help and advice please.

Questions:

Will these products work with a 2016 RS6?
Have any of you done this yourselves or had the product fitted?
Is there any noticable difference between factory fit and retrofit?
Is there a lot of trim ripping out to do and should I be concerned about rattles?
Have you experienced any warranty problems?
Is it worth it?
I've actually struggled a little to get a response to questions with the two companies I've listed. Do you have any company you would recommend?, fitting in Yorkshire area ideally.

For retrofit fit aren't these the daddies:
http://hazzydayz.com/reverse-camera-hig ... 7235-p.asp

That is speflcifically listed for face-lift version so it must work.

All OEM. And there are other options such as the front camera too. The really useful one though is the 360 degree bird's-eye view camera which would require the wing mirrors cameras too.

'John @ MK' had the rear camera retrofitted by Richter Sport MK. Not local to you, but there are a few people who can do it.

I've been in touch with a few companies now including hazzydayz. I would have to say that all have seemed pretty professional in their attitude. Prices range from a bit under £1k to over £3k for the full surround system. All kit is apparently OEM and provides identical functionality. Thanks for the help Mike and Ian.

If anyone has done coding on their car themselves or has had some aftermarket product fitted that required coding:

What happens if the car is taken in for a service and a software update is done?

Audi dealer service suggests that anything that has been coded will be wiped out and I will have to get the addon (in this case a rear parking camera) re-coded.

For anyone looking at this in the future:

According to the supplier I've talked to, a dealer can (if they really want to) allow for the aftermarket coding when they do a software update. However, as I mentioned in my previous post, my dealer has insisted that the software update (if done) will overwrite any coding.

If the software does get overwritten then of course the coding can be redone at a fairly low cost or you can purchase a VCDS cable for around £200 and do it yourself.

Had Hazzy refit the surround cameras, keyless entry incl rear hatch, lane change warning, parking aid (not sure why I did that), night vision (not sure either) and B&O (as the car was apart anyway). All with original Audi parts, partly supplied by me (key ceramics). Only thing I had to get done at Audi was calibrating night vision and surround cameras, not a biggie. No issue whatsoever, great guys to work with, can only highly recommend. Ask for Gareth, he's top!

This is exactly what happened to John @ MK who I mentioned above. No camera functionality after a service. Cue a fight to see who would pay the bill for the car to be recoded.....

LOL Not much change out of £50 there then! I'm surprised your dealer was willing to do anything. Feedback from mine was 100% not interested! I'm due to get the car in October. Undecided which options to go with. Contacted both Hazzy and advanced-incar.co.uk both very helpful indeed although the advanced guys have a fitter with facilities closer to me.

Yes, they were a bit reluctant at first but did it in the end (I also bought a sports exhaust from them). And yes, I should have bought a new car specced to my liking in hindsight :-). Hazzy provides a sheet with dealer instructions on what to do/not to do and how to recode if they manage to mess it up. I do have VCDS though so can recode it myself if needed. Dealer has no real handle to refuse warranty work etc. as it is all original parts and you're allowed to mod your car. They'd have to prove you messed it up. I wouldn't try to get interior creaks etc fixed under warranty now though...
Anybody interested in this btw:

Have a new one lying in the garage which I never mounted (car has been modified enough).

I just can't deal with another long wait for a car to my spec.. I'd been waiting for a C63s Coupe Edition 1 to arrive in the UK which I ordered at the begining of May for a July delivery. It has been sat in Bremerhaven "on hold" now with no ETA at all so I gave up and cancelled it. I'm still waiting for the RS6 I've ordered to become available but at least I've seen it and know roughly when I'm getting it plus (of course) it is a fair bit cheaper than a brand new car despite only being a few months old.

So a quick update.

Just over a week before I was due to get the Audi (late last week) I got a call from Stafford Mercedes. I assumed I was about to be told that the car had finally moved in the giant parking lot in Germany so without really listening I mentioned that it was a bit pointless calling now because I had a deposit on an RS6 and would have it by the time the C63 arrived anyway. The dealer, however, persisted and managed to get it through to me that they had the car. Knowing that I was faced with a likely loss of deposit and the fact that I was quite happy with the Audi purchase I decided to drive to Stafford Mercedes to have a look.

So it looked quite nice! Although so did the Audi:

I went back to Wakefield Audi on Sunday to have another look at the Audi. In the end I chose the Merc.. having already had an RS6 in the past and the spec of this particular one was not quite how I wanted it (hence this thread!).

To give them credit - Wakefield Audi were excellent, the car had my name on it and they had had enquiries whilst holding it for me. I felt quite bad about the situation but explained that I really hadn't expected the Merc to turn up (I'd previously told them about it) and that I would have had the Audi if they had have been able to release it earlier. Anyway they refunded my deposit without argument so I can't fault them and would be happy to deal with them again if they want my custom of course!
