It's been a while since I was in the RS fold, selling the RS5 last year then before that having the RS6 (C5) for over 7 years.
So I thought I would have a test drive of new RS6 at my local dealer and all you lucky owners must have permanent smiles of your faces. I only had an hour test drive but what fun these are, don't get me wrong my old RS5 and 6 were great machines, but technology had moved on and the look, even the standard spec of these are well equipped. The best bit of course was the performance, I was asked to give it beans on the drive which I didn't need telling twice, the thing is 2 tons and it just doesn't stop pushing, and when you release the fast pedal, the exhaust pops, bangs and farts it's just a truly fun car. But now I got to have one and the missus also agrees which is even better. So finally being without a RS for while, we got a 2.0tdi A1 and tdi A2 as these have been our work horses for a year due to house renovation I'm looking forward to the return. Just got to choose what colour now, and pre or new.

What a nice choice to be in the position to make.

Off topic......... (and I don't care if people take the piss out of me)johnny11 wrote:2.0tdi A1
Rare! Understated diesel daily driver. It's a shame both SEAT and Audi dropped the 2.0 TDi from their Ibiza and A1 a couple of years back. Imagine the tiny number of sales was the death of it. Audi Approved used lists just ONE for sale.
The Ibiza with that engine is a bloody bargain second hand
I've got a 205 GTi, and the family household has a C2 VTS.... small cars with bigger engines are fun

Totally agree with you Ian, our 2.0 tdi is more economical that our 1.4tdi a2 and it's cheaper tax too, only £20. But you are right you do have a bit of fun in these little big engined cars.
