Cheers for that Mike.

Mine has just ticked over onto 7000 miles if that helps. I'm guessing you didn't have a P0305 code logged as well?

Changing my cyl 5 coil pack seemed to cure my P0305 misfires as none of those have been logged since I swapped it out for a new one but it's still logging misfire increments in that live data logger. The majority are happening when idle and if I hold the revs around 2.5k they'll happily count up 3 or 4 at a time.

I stopped in at Audi the other day to log it with them and as per usual, they had no idea about the bulletin...shock. I'll keep this post updated when the software fix gets released.

I had the exakt same problem.
I was driving in aprox 60mph and pressed a kickdown (Without any pre-throttle too show the car i was about to accelerate away)
the engine light (yellow) were beeping / flashing for around 5 seconds then its gone again.

So this is not anything to worry about?

No, I suspect you've just caught the cylinder on demand out, the solenoid can be slow to respond with kick down from 4-8 cylinder switch.

You should perform a full 3rd/4th gear run in dynamic just to make sure that it pulls all the way through though (Away from 4cylinder mode) If you spot a flickering engine light, obviously come off the throttle.

2013 RS6 43k miles

attached photo taken with my note 8 whilst using VCDS ... my counters are random ... cylinder 5 though not so much as cylinder 1 ... I have just purchased this Audi (parted my M5) and could feel the misfiring in the drivers seat ... just a tad now and then ...

I have also monitored the live data of misfires per 1000 rpm across the cylinders and the misfire is random on cyl 3 , 4 , 5 ,6 for the 10 minutes I was watching it ...

More concerning though is knock detection voltage on cyl 4 18.xx volts ... all the others are up to 3 volts ... is this correct? Is this reason for concern ?

attached pics .

I`m going to get the coils and plugs replaced as I can`t see any record of these being done and knock wood the misfires will go away ... I just finished a nightmare with my M5 and I just moved back to audi ... I hope this is better but as it turns out first day it misfires ... jeeez

Hey! I have read that more people had the same problem with missfire cylinder 5 and engine light flashing. happens to me when it's colder outside. Has anyone solved it?
