So I'm driving along with the radio switch off, pull up to parallel park, engage reverse, and then the radio comes on..... It's done it twice now, anyone else had this

Yeah weird that, I remember my dad talking about that thing when talking about his childhood.

Do you mean you had the screen closed or just had the radio on mute?
When you reverse it lowers the stereo volume, then goes back up again afterwards. Sounds like a bug or incorrect coding.
I've never listened to the radio or had the stereo turned off so cant say its ever happened to me. Does it do it every time?

The cheek.....
So I was listening to my favourite Radio 3 program before I hit mute to enjoy a tunnel. I didn't bother to turn it back up once out the other side, then pulled in to park, hit reverse and it turned itself back up... What's that about!

You sure it is not after you come out of reverse and it unmutes the stereo?

It's probably that the "entertainment fade volume" (not sure what it's called) is set higher than the current volume (mute in your case)

Ah, I saw something like this last week. You could be right, the 'reverse' volume is set at 10 for example and as you are on 0 it turns up. But that makes no sense, surely Audi have it configured to lower the volume by a set number of decibels or percentage and not make it louder. I can't believe they'd have ballsed that up!

I get why you would want it set to a specific volume rather than a factor of your current volume, but it just can't be that hard to add some logic that doesn't make it louder if your volume is lower.
I might not be right though, I am not sure !
It used to piss me off that (on non PE) you could set the * button to turn on or off spoken guidance on the Nav, but it wouldn't remember whether you had the cues set to long or short and always defaulted back to full/long. It doesn't surprise me that they have messed this up, but it may just be a bug.

From the online manual:
Volume of spoken cues/Entertainment volume: Volume of navigation cues while route guidance is active. The in-car entertainment fader is an option that reduces the volume of the current audio source when the parking aid is active or a navigation cue is being played.
Clearly says reduces the volume and not amends or sets the volume to a predefined level, unless it is a bug.

Mine no longer unmutes after parking. It just changed behaviour a few weeks ago. Listening to music. Engage revere and music stops (vol during parking set to 0). Engage drive, pull away and .... nothing. I have to unmute it. Until a couple of weeks ago, the music would return to normal volume automatically.
Really annoying. I am hoping some of these problems will be fixed with the MMI update.

I hear what you're saying, could well be that, will try it tomorrow. If it is that then it's surely a bug. I have to say that the MMI in general is not a patch on the tech in my X5 F10 I just parted with, but thats not why I bought an RS6..
