Hi all,

After much deliberation, I've finally taken the plunge. 2 days in to ownership and very glad I did! It's not very clean at the moment, but I hope the pic does it justice.

Looking forward to learning a few tips and getting advice from the forums.

Si

Was this one on eBay from an I depended dealer? On air?

Yes it was.

Air is good enough for me, especially on the bloody dreadful country roads around here!

A rare colour choice to see but really looks great with the black optics- enjoy!

Don't buy into the hype about DRC and apologise for air! The DRC in dynamic is slightly stiffer than air- no question- but the car does not ride flat with either system when you push it . There are numerous posts on here where the more track oriented guys on DRC are looking to stiffen things up. Comfort setting is certainly more forgiving on air, but you do need to stick it in to dynamic if you really want to push on. One big benefit of the air, imo, is the ability to lower it for "free" (17mm max) with VCDS, and still be able to raise it up over speed bumps! The RS6 performance still comes with air as standard so can't be a lesser choice.
:FIREdevil: awaiting my flaming for criticising DRC :FIREdevil:

Without wanting to take the topic away from Si's new car I will quickly say having driven both too, I disagree. I am not track orientated but the air was just too boat like. Not saying it is any slower to drive but going around corner and roundabouts reminded me of a boat-like Mustang I drove in the US many years ago. Whilst DRC doesn't corner flat, it does feel much nicer off the straight line.
And I agree the ability to lower or raise the height is a bonus, but the 'free' lowering is locked on facelift cars still as far as I know; the security code used to unlock the option on pre-facelift doesn't work on the facelift cars. I'm sure someone will work out what the code is for it soon.

Anways, nice car Si. I don't generally like silver RSs, but I must admit that looks nice.

Thought I recognised it, guessing you got a really good deal as my take on it was the guy who was selling it through the dealer really needed it gone ASAP?! I didn't proceed as it didn't have sport pack, but if it suits you then no problem! I too think the silver with black optics looks fantastic, lovely motor, enjoy pal.....
