Puncture in the centre of the tred, small. Should I replace the tyre? Only done 1800 miles.

Up to you. I don't like repairs at all so I'd go new tyre.

Took it to national tyres who not only can't repair the puncture but have marked the formerly immaculate alloy. They have offered to pay for the repair but with them being diamond cut I thing I'm going to have to push for a new alloy. Any advice?

On a non-performance car I may go for a repair, generally speaking a tyre is repairable as long as the hole is far enough away from the side wall and the puncture hole is small enough.

On a performance car I'd agree with Chunky and replace, its by no means a rule but my own piece of mind would take me down this path.

Although if you do replace your then into the territory of different wear levels on tyres across an axle, so worth bearing that in mind too based on the car you have.

Repairs are acceptable on ubiquitous city cars. Not on something as serious as an RS. Merely four small patches of rubber between car and road..

If you can get a new wheel then great but id be very surprised if you could get this from them, id escalate it quickly to head office level unless you've signed anything in regards to any potential damage?

Unless it's absolutely mullered it'll be fine. You'll have to let them try first at the very least.

Just before you see the picture and think I'm going overboard, I'm a little particular with regards to keeping the car as close to showroom as possible. The mark is not that big but with past experiences with diamond cut alloys, once the salt gets in corrosion spreads like wild fire. That would be my concern.

How did they damage it? A decent tyre fitter can look at the tyre on the wheel and say if they can repair it or not. Did they remove the tyre?

They got it half way off and seen the foam and said they couldn't repair it. I should have went to Audi but national where the only place open

That'll be fine. There's no problem with a refurb. There's no ground to demand a replacement.

Where are you located? Somebody should be ble to recommend a good place for repair.
