Am going to have chrome trims painted rather than wrapped. Can anyone recommend anywhere in the south east? I am based in Oxford.

Also, is the following correct for the OEM look;

Grill surround and lip spoiler - Gloss
Window surrounds - Gloss
Roof rails - Matt (or is it satin?)

Cheers.

Also, what kind of black are the exhaust tips for an OEM look?

Black pack roof rails were black on b8 I owned and I think same on c7 - personally I think I'd wrap them if I were you but it's a free world, surely they have to be removed to paint properly??!!

Speak to Kav as he has had his done in carbon dip and look nice, I had my rails and window surrounds done in satin black by a wrapping company and it looks awesome. They charged £160 for the job which took 3 hours.

I have been quoted £500+vat to do roof rails, window surrounds & grill surround by two different wrapping companies. Thought this sounded a bit steep! That's when I thought might work out cheaper to have painted, and finish would be better?!

i had the grille painted by a bodyshop and it chips like no tomorrow, save your money and have the other bits wrapped, Mark Brodie can supply a RS6 grille with the black surround for around £250 or get the grille surround wrapped too.

There's a thread on here about wrapped mirrors somewhere, I can't see the paint being better dude really! I'm going to get the front of mine ppf'd as my b8 was resembling a pepper pot after 6 months

Interesting, so sounds like wrapping is the better option.

Wrapping is defo the better option for the grille.
The other ones are less likely to be chipped so is a little more subjective.

However, from memory, according to ELSA it looks like the trims just clip on and off unlike the B7 which were rivetted and required removal of the rear quarter light glass.
Wouldn't it be a better idea to look at this option first? Generally trims are fairly priced.

To remove the roof rails it requires lowering of the headlining (but not removal).

Mike, I didn't know it was easy to remove the window trims. So looks best to wrap grill and paint roof rails and window trims.

I can't confirm it's easy, it just looks a lot easier according to ELSA when compared to a B7. But definitely worth checking out, maybe even ask Audi for a quote to get an idea on how many hours. Unless your parts guys has more than 2 brain cells they will struggle to quote you for the black parts though.

I've gone painted after seeing wrapped ones. Its miles better finish, professional looking and lasts.

Before you go wrapped you need to see how good the wrapping is in area below on mine. Most look awful after a few weeks here
