Tyres

Hi,

Just wondered what tyres people have on their cars at delivery please? Also what are your thoughts on them, I have Contis and they don't seem great, starting to see the traction control light up a couple of times over the last couple of days, although I am now gaining confidence with the car naturally as its a month old.

Anyone have an opinion on how long these are going to last as far as fair wear and tear for the Audi complete goes??

Thanks

Dan

Audi usually spec either Contis, dunlop or pirelli (although I believe they did toyo for one batch!)
It is still crazy how you can not specify the type of tyre you want at build time.
My vote is mpss!

Mine came with Dunlop which I think are the best of the 3 that come from factory as the contis and pirellis are dire. However, I have to agree with the above, there is no better tyre for grip currently than the MPSS.

Pirelli for mine on arrival. Grip is good in the dry and under breaking.

Likewise, Pirelli with mine. Haven't had any issues with them so far whatsoever.

Mine was delivered last weekend with Contis... I've been selling and fitting tyres
for the last 30 years and Contis are what we would describe as 'the bottom' of the premium brands, that
said, I usually fit Contis to my cars, never had any wear problems..!!

As I thought a right muddle, I went for the service brakes and tyres package with the car, I hope that I can select the tyres I want when it comes to the time..... Mpss!!!

Has anyone managed to find a good deal for a set of 4 decent tyres? MPSS, or continentals, anything else? And roughly how much + from where!

Camskill are showing MPSS for £265 at the moment which is a good price.

Keep your eye out for a set of new wheels and tyres - there are some bargains out there.I was after a wheel and tyre to keep as a spare and ended up getting a brand new set from dealer whose customer wanted aftermarket wheels - £1600 with centre caps. Not bad considering how many rims I buckled on my previous BMW, and the cost of replacement tyres. Also now have extra rims for winters should I need them.

That is a great shout, I did find a very good deal on some 20's before!
