Interesting, do you have the matrix headlights by any chance? Optional extra? They are standard on all facelift cars but optional on the pre facelift cars. Wondering if the engine is mounted slightly differently for the additional/changed hardware.NLM13 wrote:Just checked my car after reading this thread, and the clip was only a few mm's in from the edge of the heat shield. There is a mark on the hose where it has rubbed, but thankfully not too bad as yet. As my car is now 18 months old, it would appear that this is not just an issue with FL models. I must just drive it too sedately to have caused so little damage

Yes, I do have the matrix lights. Wonder if that is a factor?
Re: Potential issue with coolant hose rupture (Facelift RS6)
The issue appears to be on all facelift cars and only some pre facelift cars from what I can gather. All facelift cars have the matrix lights, some pre facelift cars have optional matrix lights. Quite possible I suppose, perhaps the engines are mounted slightly differently for clearance. Strange one.NLM13 wrote:Yes, I do have the matrix lights. Wonder if that is a factor?

Re: Potential issue with coolant hose rupture (Facelift RS6)
I have a facelift car and when I went out this morning the clip was a good 15-20mm from the hose.
It looked like it had been rubbing but further investigation showed that the markings were white paint probably used in quality control in the factory to mark that the hose clip was present and fitted correct.
I tried to move it anyway and was stuck solid but easy enough to bend out of harms way.

Can't find any sign of the clips or the metal cover near the hose through the firewall. I wonder if Audi removed this when it was back for other work. See photos, am I missing something?

Re: Potential issue with coolant hose rupture (Facelift RS6)
I have a rs6 c7.5, 10kmiles, today i was driving and when i floored it i seen alot of smoke in the rear view mirror so I immediately pulled into a side street and then discovered coolant leaking underneath.
Ps please check this imagine your on the motorway or far from home.
Audi should recall and sort this problem out. Only had the car for 3 weeks.
I will update what audi or the garage find and say.

Re: Potential issue with coolant hose rupture (Facelift RS6)
Thanks for bumping this. Just checked mine ('16 FL) and there was about 15mm of clearance, so seems ok to me.

Fail Audi, it's not professional if such things happen
Re: Potential issue with coolant hose rupture (Facelift RS6)
Apologies for amateur hour over here...
But could someone post a better picture and arrow specific to the part I should be looking at adjusting?
Can't make out exactly on mine where/what I should be looking at.
Hoping someone could help this oxy moron here.
