Hello All,

Current RS4 B8 owner. Very happy with the car, but a few weeks back I happen to be driving alongside the M25 and then parked next to a C7 a few days later and just fell in love with it. It has some much more presence the than 4 and it's looks even more menacing. I think I will have to have one!

My problem is that I'm in a contract on this for another 2 years. Do you think that this RS6 is going to be in production by the end of 2017? Im sure some of you lot of quizzed into Audi production planning!

I'd be surprised if it makes it to the end of 2016, so no.

When did registrations begin ? 2012/12?

I would suggest a 5year production run to 2017 although it maybe the C8 production starts in summer 2017 so last factory orders may be end of 2016

C6 was 2005/05 ? To 2011 ?

They might run on the RSs after the A6 comes out, but it's unlikely. There'll be some left once production ends though, but it'll depend on when the new model actually arrives.

First UK press cars was April/May 2013 so the car is 2 and a half years old, order books opened and by the looks of the 2nd hand car market, the earliest customer cars available to buy are 63 reg cars (can't seem to find any 13 plate cars?)

If you take 5yrs from Q2 2013, that's taking the RS6 C7 to middle of 2018.

There's not a hope in hell they will close the order books this year. There has been no mention or snippet of a C8 A6, never mind the S6 and then a year or 2 later, the RS6.

I would say order books will close very late 2017/early 2018. The car is only mid life just now.

I cannot recall any RS model running for anything like 5 years. C7 has been around since 2010 I think, so it's well beyond mid life, hence it was facelifted last year. I'm with DK.

Audi TTRS run from 09 to 14 registration so bang on 5yrs.

Earliest C7 RS6's 13 reg so nearly 3yrs old. Perhaps another year in production then but the RS6 C8 will be minimum 2yrs after the introduction of the C8 A6 in my opinion.

^ thats not a proper RS though ... built on the same line in Hungary ... the C7 is built at Neckarsulm where they take them off the main line

I would imagine it will be late 2017/ early 2018 until the C8 RS6 is seen on UK roads. B9 S4 is scheduled to be on our roads in May this year, which would indicate that the B9 RS4 will not appear any sooner than late 2016/ early 2017. I think it is highly unlikely that Audi will release the C8 RS6 within a few months of the B9, so late 2017/ early 2018 seems entirely plausible.

Don't Audi stop production of the relevant RS models quite a while before the base model ceases production?

IIRC with the C6 & B7 they stopped production of the RS about 12mths before they stopped production for the rest of the range. During that last 12mths they started touting a load of special editions such as Black Edition & Le Mans with a host of freebies to run the model out.

The RS6 Plus was always at the end of the run so my guess in end of 2016
