Anyone tried it??

Tried mine tonight, pretty <beep> its not really Launch control as such?? Revs to around 2600 but even with my foot on the brake it tries to move forward. Let brake off and it bogs a bit then goes. miss my gtr, launched were mental lol

also tried the auto park thingy, how cool is that. Well impressed. Will only let you park on the correct side of the road though. I suppose thats only right.

You can self park in 4 different ways. On first press on dash button it will parallel park to the nearside. Second press and it will park horizontally. Press dash button then push indicator switch to the right and it parallel park to the offside. Another dash press whilst indicating right and it'll park horizontally.

Lol. But have you noticed how far away from the curb it ends up ( about 8/9inchs ) a good thing though at least the rims don't get bumped.

Is it that good then?

When parking in a space between 2 cars like a car park (i.e. not parallel parking) does it park in the middle of the 2 cars or does it park in the middle of the white lines or does it consider both? sometimes these can be quite different with these dodgy parkers parking right up to the lines.

Yes, there's no launch control as such in the car, only brake boost. Only the twin clutch Audi S tronic cars have a dedicated launch control feature, the tiptronic boxes do not.

Dynamic on
ESP off
Oil temp above 75
Foot to the floor with left foot on brake
Release left foot.

As you say, the car wants to go forward so you can only hold it for 2-3secs before you need to release. You should not bog down tho, it should launch away cleanly (although at this time of year on slippy wet cold roads then it's not going to be as good)

When the car is tuned, it is an absolute nightmare to launch, you lose that 2-3secs hold from above and you basically need to release as soon as the revs hit 2600, you set it to the lap timer and watch the boost bar, get it up to half way/3-4 and then release.

The Audi S-tronic boxes are phenomenal tho, they launch well every time and have the quickest shift times of any autobox out there and I prefer them to the GTR box. (Search wiki for dual clutch transmission shift times, the VAG boxes are up the top of the list. 8ms shift time from memory) Just a shame Audi couldn't build an S tronic box strong enough for the RS6's torque.

Yeah just back home today so done a bit of playing. Its a flaming big heavy car but the grip is fantastic even in these wet slippy conditions. Bit of a handful when chucking it around. Car starting to loosen up only done 400 miles feels good.

There's an interesting debate, what is the perfect car? Gtr launch, rs6 passenger capability? What looks etc?
