Standard Suspension

Post by superlightr » Fri Nov 20, 2015 3:29 pm

How does everyone find it ? - The reviews I have read have said its fine/good for the uk roads.

The only adverse comment I have seen is from Boff that the upgraded suspension is a must (appreciate his view as well) but wondered how everyone else felt? is it a must or no worries.

As its role as a fast family estate the regular air suspension I find ideal for our <beep>, pot holed ridden, poorly surfaced, overbanded roads. However I don't remember thinking the ride too compromised on the DRC car I drove. If it was my only car I might be tipped to DRC but having an Exige means this can be a bit for wafty.

I tried a number of set ups and found DRC with 20s was sweet spot handling and ride wise. I spend a lot of time on A and rural B roads though. I know most people prefer look of 21s but ....
I leave it in Auto suspension most of the time (Dynamic is too hard) and Comfort on motorways with the family - and dog :)

I would expect that most of us who have purchased this beast have done because they have a compromise between a 998 and Range Rover. It is an absolute animal off the mark and not to shabby I'm the corners. Only thing the dogs hates the over run blips when in sports mode!!!!

So to be clear is the DRC suspension the best option or is the standard set up good enough for our roads? tia.

The one I test drove I felt no wallow. I only had the car a total of 90mins but it got a good test and was more than happy with air. My old Q7 had air and given its a huge car the air worked really well. I guess though Audi offer springs for a reason. My car wont be near a track Air is fine for my needs.

Got the car last night. Happy with Air. I am in Aberdeen working at the moment and the roads are terrible. Glad I have gone with Air. Not ragged it yet or tried any quick twisty roads but going with the demonstrator I drove on Air fingers crossed I will be happy with it.
