Anyone notice the engine fan staying on after shutdown? Happens with my 14 plate after every journey. Also, noticed the start/stop function has never kicked in yet.
Thanks

Yes, the fan runs on even after the most modest drive involving minimal revs.
My start-stop is the opposite - it sometimes cuts in after less than a mile of driving, despite one of the pre-conditions being that the engine is supposed to be warm.

RE the start stop. Are you using your hill hold assist function?? I:e pulling up to a stop and lifting off your brakes and letting the ebrake take control. You must leave your foot firmly pressed on the foot brake whilst you come to a stop. The split second you lift your foot it'll cancel the feature. Oh yea the engine needs to be warm as well.

Don't use hill hold assist. Brake on firmly but get a crossed A every time. Always worked on previous Audi's unless the engine was cold or the aircon on full blast. Tried in D and N.

Crossed A means it's not ready. I've also noticed it doesn't work when the heated rear screen and or the heated seats are on.

The problem is that the system is never ready even with all those switched off.

Dunno then. I'm not sure if it can be turned off via
VCDS but I'm sure someone on here maybe able to clarify.

Are you in dynamic engine and transmission setting (or S by pulling stick back)?

Auto in engine/trans for 95% of the time. Very strange, I thought it may be to do with a fault keeping the aux fan on all of the time and needing the battery power, hence having to keep the engine running.

Check your efficiency programme on the computer to see what's running. Should list anything pulling power.

Fan staying on after driving is normal, mine does it for up to 10mins after driving. Re stop/start. How long have you had the car? If you have only just got it then it may take a few days as it might have been sat around for a while

Checked the efficiency program today and only have a very small green bar when the heater is on (no aircon). Turned the heater off to reduce consumption to zero and the stop/start kicked in for the first time. It will only work with the heater completely off so maybe a weak battery?

Could be a weak battery. Do you do short journeys? I only ask as when I got mine the stop/start didn't work properly until I had taken it on a decent run about a week after I got it. I did 100 mile round trip and after that its worked fine.

Totally normal but know why you're concerned, test car was doing it and I thought I had left it on. The car regenerates power on braking, I wonder if there is a separate battery that runs the fans after shut down from the regenerated power?
