Rough gearbox, drive train slack

2014 car with 15,000 miles. Gear changes have become gradually less smooth, some specific changes are fine but others are not eg 4th to 3rd feels abrupt with no throttle blip, 3rd to 2nd is smooth. Driving off on light throttle is a bit jerky in comfort mode, as the 'box goes up the gears. And it sometimes feels like missing a beat when going from cruise to acceleration (though that might be the cylinder on demand thing). Of course, my obsessive-compulsive driving self is more and more aware of all this.

Car's booked for a software reset/upgrate, engine and gearbox. Any advice or experience on what to ask them to look for?
