long term cost

Post by archimike » Mon Jun 29, 2015 3:40 pm

Hi
I am looking to get an rs6, I really love almost everything about this car. Being conscious that such a car has a initial cost (depending of the additional option you like to put in) could anyone tell me how much actually cost the car during the first year? In term of :
_ Insurance
_service routine
_tyres, breaks (disk pads, or ceramic)
_ etc...

And if there is a typical failure. Or things that need regular check or replacement? Like I have notice that BWM use to eat engine oil and owner has to top it from time to time... is Audi also have similar issue but acceptable?

Many thanks!

That's a tough one as to answer the questions above the cost could be just a few hundred ££'s depending on your circumstances (insurance) & annual mileage/usage. Or many thousands of ££'s if you're 21, living on Merseyside, drive like a lunatic & cover 45k miles a year.

I'm a BMW owner & in 14.5k miles haven't needed to top the oil up once. The car get's tracked & driven (quite often) how i hope BMW M expect the car to be driven.

Thanks W8PMC!

I am long time driver so 21 is part of my old days now hehe! (actually that the age I got my driving license!)

I forgot to mention that I am living in Dubai. While the price of the car is almost similar as UK, the maintenance could sometime be another story especially with German car here. There is basically no after market for such a car. Not like the toyota, hondas etc.. which are really comon here due to their low maintenance cost. I have a range rover sport, and maintain it cost me as twice more than back home! As in the dealer taxe all genuin part by 100% !!! It happened that I even order a part in UK once and it arrived cheaper (including shipping) that to buy it to LandRover directly here by like 50%!

While I make maybe 20000 mile/year, and drive resonably (not like a maniac!) 50% city 50% highway, I might need to change breaks pad and tyre once/year. Petrole is quiete cheap here so I m not worry to much about it as it easily fit to my budget.

I know that my RR cost me abt £1000 every 6000miles! Just because this car comes with so many little annoying failures that add on the normal maintenance.

Just want to be sure that moving toward Audi won't bring me similar deception and pleasure to ride this car every day.

Doing 20,000 miles a year, the running costs are going to be insignificant compared to the depreciation!

Hi guys

This what I found online.

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-review ... st-review/

http://www.ebay.com/gds/Owning-an-Audi- ... 618/g.html

I know that everyone will have a different feedback but that a good start.

Cheers

At 20k miles per annum i'd expect a set of tyres every 9mths, a set of pads every9-12mths & a service every 9mths.

Other than that the cars are pretty bulletproof so you'd be unlucky to have any major mechanical issues & even then i'm sure in UAE you get the same 3yr warranty we do in the UK?
