I was looking and found this plug and play piece... My first impression that looked so good to be true... Plug and play and more than 700hp...

Anybody knows that? Already use?

Its a tuning box.

It works by manipulating the boost sensors to read lower so the stock ecu will compensate and correct, that's about as much tech as they have.

For example, figures just illustrative.

Standard boost pressure = 1.2 bar
Tuning box manipulated pressure = 0.9 bar
Stock ECU compensates to meet the 1.2 bar request
Real boost pressure = 1.5 bar

Not so bad, its just upping the boost pressure to extract performance, boost however is only 1 part of the equation, no fuelling or timing maps, the tuning box relies heavily upon the stock ECU to compensate fuel and timing to suit.

The stock ECU will still run stock lambda maps though so the engine will run hot and it will run lean, when you up boost pressure, you must richen the fuel mixture. The stock ecu is a clever unit and will auto richen the fuel mixture but only when things get too hot, not before which means youre always going through the cycle of running hot, ecu compensating by richening fuel mixture (and decreasing perfomance substantially by over richening the AFR and pulling out timing)

One major advantage of them is they are pretty much undetectable one removed, however, they do not remove speed limiters so if you're restricted to 155/174/189 you still will be.

I shudder to think what would happen to an RS6 engine using a tuning box at 189mph running 1.5 bar manipulated boost pressure running stock lambda fuelling maps.

Theres not a hope in hell they will produce the figures quoted either, maybe 560 upto 650, but certainly not 700+, the dedicated tunes are only just managing that.

The manufacturer claims 10-15% increase in fuel economy, too. It is ridiculous for Audi to spends millions on research into fuel economy technology when the answer is available on the internet for $750.

If that economy increase were achievable, Audi would buy these boxes in bulk and strap them to all their cars straight from the factory.

I might buy three of these, stick 'em all together and go over to a BiTDi forum and boast about my 700bhp whilst achieving 67mpg.

Anyone stupid enough to fit one of these to a car of this caliber, no, any car you care about is a moron!

I hope to God no C7 RS6 owners are stupid enough to even consider this.

I can't speak for Audi's, but although the device itself is of course undetectable once removed, numerous info stating the presence of them is most definitely detectable as the ECU can log that measures & parameters have been off kilter.
