Spent the morning trying to attain the highest speed at this event, surprised i was the only Audi in the field. the runway was on the RAF base in Woodbridge and its a 2 mile stretch of road, but shortened to 1 mile. I had 3 runs and with and without traction on (conditions were wet) When i had left only 2 runs were registered at 175 mph, with a longer stretch of road 180-190 mph would have been obtainable i think. :)

Helped run a couple of events there in the past. Shame it wasn't posted in the events section or I would have come down only being in Ipswich and all. We used more than a mile when we were on there but it was a testing ground for ten of the best in York back then. To be fair the surface had become a bit patchy over the years which is why we stopped using it and is probably why they were using only a mile of it, I think end to end it is nearly two miles but the initial stages and the end run off are in very bad shape. DId you find the peak at its centre, had some cars get light steering there if they were going fast enough?

i only booked on saturday as a few mates also went. the surface wasnt too bad, I think they opened the full 2 miles in the afternoon when i had left. I think the peak of the cars performance wasnt reached on a short runway, my car was still accelerating right up to the finish line :)

Have you tried at the actual VMAX event? Depending on config on the day you should be looking at close to 1.8miles.

Next one is Sept 12th.

Possibly the only opportunity to get close to that VMAX in the UK though.

I'm booked on for the Sept event.
