Weaving Under Accceleration

Hi
My father has just bought a red 14 plate RS6 with Dynamic Pack Plus. We think it was an ex Audi car, 1800 miles on it when delivered to us.
We've both driven it a bit and as you'd expect, we are really impressed with the handling and thrust considering the size of it
Dad says that he thinks it's a little odd under hard acceleration sometimes, he feels that it weaves and almost feels a bit like torque steer in a FWD car.
He noticed this on his own car and another demonstrator that we tried a bit earlier.
His previous cars were a C63 AMG and he still has a C5 RS6 with MTM map to 500bhp.
Is this a known trait?
Just the pure physics of trying to get the power down? Is it transferring power from wheel to wheel?
I wondered whether the sport diff settings would have any impact on things?
As I understand it the sport diff is mostly to aid cornering and reduce under-steer....

I had the same feeling. On a straight stretch with hard acceleration, sometimes I got the feeling of torque steering. Kinda weird considering it's not a FWD.
Anyone else?

Yep, under hard - i.e. full - acceleration the car does weave, especially if you are changing direction (for example during an overtake). However, if you tried that sort of driving in - say - a C63 you'd be off the road and in the hedge in moments. Personally, I think it is a tribute to the 4WD of the RS6 that you can put all the power down in so many road situations that other cars couldn't handle.
552bhp on the public road without ever having to worry about spinning it? I am happy that it weaves a bit.

Rule 1.
If I had nothing better to do I would put a loaf of bread or a bowl of custard on the bonnet.
Bute strangely enough I have other things to be getting on with.

Thanks for those who have replied and confirmed that maybe it's a bit of a trait.
The only downside of this car is that it has the heated steering wheel option, good in the fact that the wheel is round but doesn't have that nice perforated leather and it has the standard looking gear selector knob. Carbon pack with Misano on the outside looks good though.

Heated steering wheel !!!! Thats a waste. If I need to keep my little fingers warm, I find a heavy right foot on a bend soon has the desired effect of white knuckles which in turm pums lots of warm blood around my hands.... It also negates the need for the heated seats to be turned on

What can I say, you've been a great victim. Funny thing is, with all of the effort you've spent replying could've added a photo of your car, so, you know, you could actually contribute to the forum.
'Tis is very easy. Taken a picture of your shiny new RS6 on your phone lately? Great!
Log onto RS246.com, find this post, scroll down to the options/upload attachment tabs, tap the upload attachment tab then tap "choose file" button -> pick the photo in question, tap "add the file" button. Submit post! Then sit back while other forum users get to ogle at one of Audi's finest OR go on being how you are and owning an imaginary car.
This is the Internet, without pictures it's all just words, we might as well be just reading a book.
