Tyre clustering and MY16

Post by mat776 » Sat Apr 04, 2015 11:15 pm

Thought you might like to see this, although not terribly helpful !

Audi have released details of tyre clustering on some lines. Interestingly only A3, A4, A5, A7 and Q5 are mentioned.

It speculative but, it may be likely that this indicates that only those lines will move to MY16 at BW22 as it seems unlikely that tyre clustering will have no effect on A6, A1, A8 and when they move those lines to MY16 the same will happen. It would be interesting to see what the RS7 changes are from 20" to 21" but perhaps not directly comparable to RS6 because of the difference in 275 rubber.

I have also been told that there are no "major" changes to RS6 at BW22, although this is unconfirmed this document seems to support that possibly.

Tyre clustering affects CO2 emissions on some MY16 cars

25 March 2015
Tax implications on some A3, A4, A5, A7 and Q5 derivatives

AU0310-15

Some model year 2016 (MY16) cars will have different CO2 emissions figures to equivalent MY15 cars because of new EU regulations and tyre clustering.

We’re telling you this now because all new orders you place are likely to be built as MY16 cars (MY15 production is almost full). This includes current orders without a build week or with a build week after week 21. Therefore it’s important you understand the implications of tyre clustering now.

It’s a mixed picture: several derivatives across the Audi range will have lower CO2 emissions because of tyre clustering, but emissions will be higher on some others.

CO2 emissions have gone up compared to the MY15 car on some derivatives in the A3, A4, A5, A7 and Q5 ranges. This may result in an increase in customers’ Benefit-in-kind (BIK) or Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) tax liabilities. A list of those derivatives affected by increases in BIK or VED at MY16 is attached for you to download.

Where possible, customer-tagged orders placed before Wednesday 25 April will be built as MY15 cars.

Pricing and specification guides will be updated for MY16 to contain full pricing and technical information for each derivative. They will be available to download as each model opens for ordering. All models will be open by the end of April.

The RS6 on the Audi Configurator now has an advisory message stating wheel choice may have a tax implication.

The price has also increased slightly from £77,995 to £78,040 from 1st April.

Brochure hasnt been updated yet to reflect these changes.

Sure wish they'd had that steering wheel available when I ordered mine. Mmmmm, round wheel, lovely.

Logo on the rear caliper just draws attention to the fact it's a rubbish floating caliper (I wonder where they will find the space to place the Sticker). For this much money I would have expected a proper fixed caliper on the rear.
