Towbar help, please

Does anyone have the towbar on their RS6? I went to use mine today and found that the rear diffuser central section has to be removed before the towbar can be deployed (not mentioned at all in the handbook). Trouble is, the central section seems completely stuck in place. I undid the two thumb-turn bolts and freed up the bottom of the removeable section but the top seems jammed in solid and seems to want to bend the rest of the diffuser out of shape rather than come off.

I could phone the dealer but I can put £50 on them telling me to "bring it in". Any tips, anyone?

I only saw it working on mine once when I picked up the car. I think you had to do it from inside the trunk but would need to check. You definitely need to take the middle diffuser out

Thanks for the response. Yes, I can see the mechanism in the trunk that deploys the towbar, but I can't remove the diffuser middle section. Very frustrating!

Wasn't talking about the mechanism on the left panel inside the trunk. I think you need to lift the "floor panel" and underneath you can unscrew the exterior middle diffuser. Will try to check
