Booked in for a Wrap!

Hi all,

So I've had a few of my cars wrapped in the past and wasn't planning on with the RS. However it didn't last long and I've got it booked in for May as soon as it's delivered to be wrapped from Panther black. It's having all the matt chrome etc wrapped too, and the car will be matt black with a slight sheen to it. Any thoughts comments welcome on alternative colours but I found a matt black car online and it looked mean!! Here's a link to a time lapse video PW pro did of my M6 GC being wrapped

Love that video and colour. However you should of got merlin purple ha ha!!

Matt black is a bit done.... Before you decide have a look at some other colours. I really fancy matt red chrome on my Merc.

I know merlin purple would look awesome in my opinion but I was a bit concerned about the quality, matt black is a bit done I agree but as I went to change the colour last week I was told the build was now locked! I'm still not sold on matt black and may just add paintshield and dechrome

Satin grey would look really good, there's also a stunning new blue just been released that's on a Scottish gtr. Looks immense

Parmd,

Keen to understand the mind of a "wrapper", so no offence meant ;-)

Why not buy the car in the colour you want in the first place? Or is it that you can buy a "safe" colour, wrap it to your taste and not worry about selling on in the future?

Cheers
Lewy

Satin GREY, something stealthy i think panther black will look better than matte black IMHO just black out grille badge any silver bits. There was a pic of one on the forum somewhere looked mean as fook. :biggrin3:

No offence taken chaps, the M6 was wrapped because the paint finish was awful and I couldn't face dealing with BMW anymore after a tireless Facebook/twitter campaign to put the numerous faults right with it. I love the phantom black on the rs6 but at the moment I'm still 50/50 as it cost the same I paintshield the front end or wrap and protect the entire car. I'm leaning towards the paintshield at the moment as it's more durable than a standard wrap and the car will cover 20k a year, plus don't really want to do a colour change as a believe you have to inform dvla and I really can't be bothered to deal with that issue. The simple mind of a wrapper!! Or shall I cover it in cling film

That blue GTR looks the same as Shmee's R8 or Macca

I would say matt black is one to death now, probably every third "nice" car i see in London is wrapped matt black.

I reckon a brighter colour matt is good, I used to run matt orange on my track car almost 10 years ago and it looked awesome, matt riviera would be immense imho.

Gtr is almost purple in certain lights it looks great. Same company have done a satin yellow and red gtr also. Wraps are quick pricey now though
