My first RS6 arrived in June but I wasn't happy with the spec, so did a deal with my Dealer to replace it with the spec I should have ordered.......which has just arrived....I especially like the red brake callipers

Yes- loving the red callipers...really lifts the view of the car from the side which can appear somewhat featureless when viewed straight on.

not a very good pic, taken with my iPhone, but I agree that the small splash of red does add a bit of interest, even at a distance

At last a "Happy" post...Let's have some more pics and discussion about these beautiful RS6's and less about the FL. These cars are all about the engine and gearbox, not the MMI or £200 less RFL !

Daytona needs the darker wheels I think. 21's in full silver look a bit much and even aftermarket. What was wrong with the first rs6??

Nothing was 'wrong' with the first RS6...just that I had never even considered an Audi as my vehicle of choice before, having recently driven a Jaguar XFR and before that several Beemers and Mercs.
So I left a lot of the options up to the Dealer. It wasn't until I'd been driving the first RS6 for a few days that I realised I favoured the LED lights over the xenons the dealer had spec'd for me. Also, after seeing what a difference the 21 inch rims to the overall aesthetics of the car I became disillusioned with the 20 inchers. Black wheels had never been my thing....it must be a generation thing because my son adores them. Tungsten wheels IMO always look like they're covered in brake dust! But what a horrible boring world it would be if we all bought the same spec car!
I finally made up my mind to chop the car in for a 'better' spec after I kerbed the precious alloys whist parking and was told that the top view camera would have avoided that.
Then my dealer told me that unless I put my order in quick I'd get the facelift 'straight' LED headlights.....and to me the pre-FL lights are soo much better.....funny old world isn't it

I don't think there's much to choose aesthetically between the "old" LED lights and the new LED lights. One thing I do know is that the old LED lights were pretty rare. I only saw one A6 with them (very expensive option earlier this year) and another RS6 with them which was on the day I sold mine (I thought it was mine!). Although I would personally go with the new FL RS6 if I was ordering one now because ... that's just what you do when the new model comes out ... I would be a bit unhappy about losing the uniqueness of the old ones and they look damned good anyway! It's a shame Audi didn't add a bit of something extra to the RS6 FL LEDS over the standard A6 ones.

Well, they are matrix LED so there's nothing too add.

They'll look the same as a Ultra thou?

I don't mean "add" in that way I mean a slightly different design to differentiate them from the normal A6.

Family parts fit in the same hole, never going to make them different!

That's not the point! The original LEDS were essentially almost unique to the RS6. The new ones are going to be on most new A6s.

Mmm, not really. They were an option pre-FL just as they are now.

Now three options, xenon, LED and matrix LED. The latter is only standard on RS6.
