RS 7 vs M6 Gran Coupe is the closest I've found which will tell you all you need to know. RS7 murders it, but it was wet...

Looks like the RS6 gets the initial pull which is to be expected, equal with the M5 gaining up to about a 120kph & then the M5 pulls away. Same result below.

At the very least that RS7 is producing 50bhp more than the M5 (likely a similar torque advantage).
Given it appears to be in the US it's likely that M5 will be tuned by BMS or Dinan. Either of these tunes at Stage 2 (a stage 3 isn't available) with aftermarket intakes & Akrapovic exhaust would produce 700bhp.
Even stock the RS7 is going to outdrag the M5 as the 0-62 figs are about 1/2 second apart with the M5 at 4.2 & the RS7 at 3.7 i believe. Midrange the M5 would catch up & over 100mph (like that's a frequent event) the M5 would pull away but the initial drag would be the RS7's

Yes golfather what i like to hear and you could be right w8pmc but by that time the audis gone unless he's on one of them fast 6 runways thats about 50 miles hahah. Then theres no catching him and i still dont think the M5 would have a chance or even gain on it dragtimes RS7 demolishes many M5 F10 various tunes from low power to 800bhp ones.

Hmm, it is a good looking beast, I wander if it's just poorly tuned or had a bad tank of fuel. Would be interesting to see what it's actually making.

Not sure different vids, on different roads, in different countries, in different conditions is a conclusive comparison... def gives an idea, but I personally would have to see them side by side like this:

And I'm not 'Audi Fanboying', as the vid I just posted shows the M5 pulling lengths on a C6 RS6.

Which VMAX was that? Would love to know how the owner of that M5 reckons they're running 800bhp? Best i've heard of is about 720 but i've no knowledge of the car in question.
"All show & no go", that's quite funny & kind of how i felt about the C7 RS6 after several extended test drives which is why i chose the M5. That said, the C7 RS6 is certainly quicker off the line (not hard to work out why) & certainly has a juicier exhaust note, but i'm afraid it was at that point where my favour shifted & my cash went to BMW.
Below's a fairly good head to head summary & no real surprises.

LOL
See above.
Not taking anything away from the C7, but let's not kid ourselves that the cars are poles apart performance wise as they're not but they deliver a very different driving experience & environment.
YES, the RS6 will launch quicker & therefore should win most drag races with it's startling sprint, however the 1/4 mile times for both cars are identical at 11.9secs (according to reports). Also the key lap times round the obvious circuits favour the M5 which would indicate a slightly better on road/track performance, however of course they're only marginal so would be driver & certainly road condition dependant.
In the perfect world i'd have a C7 RS6 for Autumn/Winter & an F10 M5 for Spring/Summer

Not so sure now DK.
When 1st deciding on my next vehicle, that was the single biggest factor as i'd not had any time in the F10 M5 & loved most things about the C7 RS6 having driven a couple on extended drives. My 1st F10 didn't end well as was rejected so i gave Audi a 2nd chance to play but they were even further off the chart wanting twice as much on Contract Hire so a replacement F10 was ordered. I've kind of fallen in love with this one & even if the 2 cars were price matched today, i'd stick with this M5. Of course the DMS magic has heightened that love.
Come the end of the Contract i will of course try Audi again as i'm far more an Audi fan than a BMW fan, however even a hardened Audi fan couldn't find much in an RS6 to warrant paying double for a car that's the same price OTR.
This has now been made worse as the wife sold her Q5 a few weeks ago & was about to push the button on a new S1, but has been drawn to BMW & opted for a new Mini Cooper S, so we've gone from a 2 Audi household to a 2 BMW household.
