Dare i say it....Tyres

Post by jezitalia » Tue Oct 07, 2014 1:48 pm

Those with a C7, may I ask, what tyres did you get on delivery?

I am hoping for some Mitch's. Have seen Conti's on photo's just hoping against the Dunlops, which I really did not like on the C6.

Thanks

Dunlops for me and I am pleasantly surprised with the dry and wet grip...

For the love of Jesus.

Are you really going to tell the difference between those premium brands. Maybe if they were contis and nan kangaroo ditch finders then yes.

I'd be more bothered about the screen wash as I've heard it's just changed scent. Don't want last year's smell!

Rick love it.

But experience tells me yes I am.

Mitch over Dunlop on the C6 everyday.

I will find out in a little while I hope! Oh and check out the new screen wash too

I thought all RS6's came with Pirelli P-Zero NCS - the ones with the fancy noise reduction bands. Judging from everyones responses though it seems this is not the case :-(

Why can't you order it to come on a tyre of your choice?? Seems pretty stupid.

Driven by factory and presumably what they've got to hand. You'd not want to delay your car's delivery for lack of tyres!

That said, I'd not want Contis, they are <beep>.

I had everything (including Dunlops) on my C6 and found that it was a toss up between Mich and Dunlop as to which ones I preferred. Dunlops were noticeably quieter on the C6

On the C7 it came with Dunlop's. Seem pretty good and quiet again. Had a slow puncture which had the guys at Kwik Fit scratching their heads as they have a foam band on the inside of the tyre casing - must be for noise reduction.

On a heavy car like the C7 RS6 i'd say tyres are a huge factor. Although you'd expect any OEM tyre on the car to be up to the job, the characteristics between different rubber can be very different. As an example, Mich Pilot Super Sports are possibly the best gripping road tyre available & on track they perform amazingly well due to how they handle heat & how sticky they get. This however comes at a cost as being soft the wear rate is higher. On my car the other option are Pirelli's & i've yet to hear any good feedback on these tyres so i'm delighted mine came with MPSS.

On my second set of Dunlop SportMaxx now and think they are great, suprised me too!

That said the Conti Winters go on soon and in the cold and wet they are awesome.

I drove a C7 recently with Conti 20's and was not impressed at all, all be it on a track.

Cheers

I'll find out next week!

SpriSi, I agree however for what you pay meeting a request for a certain tyre should not be an issue! They can bespoke a leather interior, tyres must be simple when looking at the lead time we are considering here.

Mine came in april on PZeros. I bought a set of MPSS for 20" 275 35 20 that i actually never mounted, so have this set for sale, 4 mpss in sweden, i would imagine the entire car feels a lot better with mpss, but first i wore out the zeros on 10000km.. :biggrin3:
