Apologies that they are only pictures of the "Old Model"...but hey if you think that all this car is about are the Lights and the MMI then you really need your head looked at :bash:

[red calipers are to my taste, so be gentle with me!]

***UPDATE*** 02/09/14

:jump_clap: I am now the extremely happy owner of an RS6 C7 (1st Sept)!! Everything about this car is awesome!! Never felt raw power like this before, yet still well mannered in town traffic.

Thanks to some of the advice given by others in this thread, I swallowed a bit of pride and tried to work with the garage to resolve the issues rather than rejecting the car. I eventually got the garage to agree to retrofit the Red Calipers :jump_clap: and, as they had promised, the car is registered as a "64" plate :jump_clap: (still really none the wiser why it had "14" plates on it when we first saw it).
So hats off to Alex and Paul at Glasgow Audi for making me an extremely happy bunny yesterday (1st Sept)! :beerchug:

Since the whole MY14.5/15/16??? fiasco seems to be dragging on I decided to let the fact the car was not MY15, as I had requested, go. This was an easy decision given the hassle a lot of people are having with delivery dates and I am not too keen on the claimed new style headlights that the facelift model might have.

I had intended that the car was going to be a keeper when I ordered it, now that I have some 300 miles [and one whole tank of fuel!] under my belt I KNOW that it is my "forever" car! Still getting to grips with bits and pieces but enjoying figuring it all out!

My advice to all those who are being forced to wait, is to hang in there, this is a truly awesome car, supremely versatile and a real head turner without people staring at you thinking you are a :knob: !

***END***

Was looking forward to getting my RS6 on the first of September until yesterday!
As part of the condition of sale I stipulated that it was to be a MY15 with the following spec:
Daytona Grey Pearl- Black leather with rock grey stitching
21" titanium look wheels
Dynamic steering (on air)
Sports Exhaust
LED lights
Red brake callipers
ACC
Audi connect
Top View
Heated Rear seats
Rear Airbags
Piano black inlays

Despite having ordered back in May, dealer has been sitting on the fact that it is a MY14 and therefore the red callipers could not be added. Documentation now shows that they knew this soon after I ordered yet chose to go the "deny until there is no option but to own up" route.

I work abroad so I got my wife to go and check the car yesterday just so that there were no surprises come 1st September. When she got there, she was told the news about the callipers but nothing about the MY. They offered to paint the callipers but just imagine the state they would be in after a few months. To add further to the situation when she was shown the "brand new" car it had a 14 plate front and back, and although still to be prepared was muddy, brake discs showing signs of heat bloom and there were 39miles on the clock!

Totally annoyed about all of this- this was going to be my "forever" car [and I really meant it this time!] and although no red callipers and not MY15 might seem trifling, it will never feel "mine". Something similar happened a few years ago with my wife's Q5- leather (bog standard cheap leather!) instead of Alcantara. She was so keen to have the car that we let the matter go, however it was the wrong choice and we ended up changing it a year or so later, at some cost, for a new q5 to our spec.

Even if I could forgo the MY14 and calliper issues I am still concerned that '14 plates have been fitted and the car looks like it has been out for a quick drive by who knows who despite it being mine! Got told stuff about Audi running them to test them etc but I am not believing it (all my others new cars Audi and VW, all be it they were not RS's, all had less than 10 delivery miles.

What delivery mileage have others here been experiencing?

If someone is looking for this spec of car then I suspect the garage will have it up for sale soon once I make my mind up what I want to do next!

Cheers!

Sounds like a dealer needed to reach some sort of quota to me. Why on earth would they register a car in august??

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the differences between the MY14 and MY15? Is it just the options that can be added?

That's not good when you're spending that sort of money. Know how you must feel. My wife's new S3 collected a few weeks ago had 12 miles on it I assume that would be normal. Around the docks a few times down the road to get fuel etc. Can you actually get a car with Zero miles?

Very little between MY14 and 15. Mostly removal of colour options. Callipers and carbon engine cover only differences I can recall.

Honestly there's not a lot you can do. Mileage is acceptable I believe for delivery.

I assume you've already secured a good discount.

Ask for free service and day at Audi experience.

Or reject the car and get them to order new. But you'll be waiting again.

My wife's is on a 14 plate but that was our choice as we got a great deal which would not have been so good if we had waited for the 64 plate.
What difference does it actually make financially surely only resale, If you put a personal plate on it no one will know.

I do see the frustration when you spend that sort of money you should get exactly what you ordered every time

This is the issue in dealing with Audi...no longer a premium brand.

Not a chance being able to reject unless you have in writing the details of the order.
The car obviously is in full working order which is what the main basis of the sale of goods act is trying to achieve.
The calipers are wrong colour and the dealer has offered to rectify - this is reasonable from the laws point of view so it won't help you.

What is the deposit paid?

Have taken advice this morning and things are on my side regarding the order. The order documentation I signed clearly states the spec which apparently become "a condition of sale" which the dealer is clearly in breach of. I am also advised that the dealer offered remedy to paint the callipers would only resolve the issue "by mutual agreement" if I were willing to accept, which I am not. So I am completely within my rights to reject the car, on a "condition of sale" basis regardless of its "merchantable quality" if that is what I decide to do. An offer to retrofit the callipers might change this basis, however dealer has already refused to do this. Not being. MY15 (there are always running changes and improvements seen or otherwise between MYs Bluetooth phone connection as an example where hardware was changed, etc etc) and what appears to be preregistration is another matter again. I am completely gutted about all of this and feel used given that this was a know issue, for the dealer, many months ago.

I can see why you are upset.. When did the MY14/MY15 change occur?

I can't believe they offered to "Paint" your callipers, would never be as good as factory option. It must be very frustrating. First thought tell them to shuv it but then how long do you wait for another one.
I imagine you are in a bit of a quandary at the moment. Hope it works out for you

Thing is, you go all legal and that's that. Relationship fails. And if it got there, magistrate may feel that you have been unreasonable in not accepting the offer of rectification from the dealer.

You need to either accept that yes it's disappointing but it is the car you want bar a minor cosmetic item, which could be resolved. I assume they are not asking you to pay for the calipers....

Or, you walk away go to another dealer and order another car. Or buy one of the low mileage examples that are out there for a good price.

Lead time will be 3-6 months on a new order.

May/June. So there was a minimal chance that a car would be built to MY15 spec for 1st Sept delivery anyway.
