Akrapovic exhaust
Akrapovic exhaust
Hi all
Has anyone done any research on aftermarket exhaust systems? I came across this and this sounds much meaner.
https://www.akrapovic.com/#!/car/produc ... yearId=178
My last experience with exhaust wasn't the best hence am not pulling the trigger unless I have had some genuine feedback or listened to the real thing.
Other than Akra, anyone? Milltek? HMS?
Thanks
Phil

Re: Akrapovic exhaust
Sounds fantastic. Only problem for me with most exhausts after hearing Jon olssons RS6 which has a miltek non res I'm sure. Is the popping the standard exhaust there or sports sounds great and the pops and crackles sound better. Where as akra system sounds better overall but losing them crackles and pops. Also been told by someone who had a miltek system non res with downpipes that it sounds better with just the miltek system and forget the downpipes.
Re: Akrapovic exhaust
Hi M1R XE, many thanks. That's what I worried most. I don't want to lose the pops and crackles. If that's the case, I'll stay put. On top, Akra isn't exactly cheap.
Cheers

Re: Akrapovic exhaust
Only ever driven the RS6 with the sports exhaust so can't comment on the standard one but the sports exhaust sounds really good so not bothered about paying an extortionate amount for an after market one

"UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Re: Akrapovic exhaust
Yes nuwanda I've driven both standard exhaust and sports. Obviously sports is the one to go for and sounds mental its perfect for me and I wouldn't be changing it. Don't worry you'll love the sports and plenty crackles and pops where as seem to lose them with some aftermarkets. As you mentioned the akrapovic system is daft money hahaha.

Re: Akrapovic exhaust
The optional exhaust sounds as good to me at the minute, the Akra tips look class, but is it worth the price... anyone know how much? gotta be over 6k?
Re: Akrapovic exhaust
Not cheap at all.

Re: Akrapovic exhaust
I actually thought it could be more. The local reseller to me was happy to bring one into stock for me to see. I know very well it will be hard to resist. Let's wait and see...

Makes the Milly look cheap.nuwanda wrote:Not cheap at all.
I can't understand £6k on an exhaust, not at all.
Spend the money on a Milly, filters, map and lots of fuel and have some left over to treat the wife to some chips.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

2nd that. It's f*kin pipes in the end. And a valve or two.VARSITY wrote:I can't understand £6k on an exhaust, not at all.
If I had the money - yes sure. Sounds awesome. But 6K? C'mon..

Re: Akrapovic exhaust
Not liking the sound at all sounds so rough. I think I will stick with custom exhausts which come in a lot cheaper and often sound better.
