0-60 time

Post by parmd » Fri Jun 28, 2013 6:31 pm

Hi all, bearing in mind the S6 does 0.60 in 3.7 sec(car and driver) with launch control what do you experienced RS owners estimate the C7 RS6 will do ??

Isn't C&Ds method dubious?

It'll do mid to high 3s. Down to launch control more than anything else.

Can't recall exact details, do they allow a rollout i.e. not from standing start?

Got it! That's seriously misleading when they claim that they used launch control, which I'd assume would involve having your foot on the brake etc. to perform the launch

I'm hard pressed to tell the difference between high 3s (my modified Evo VIII MR) and high 2s (GT-R).

Either way it will feel rapid. What will be more interesting will be how the warranty supports the use of launch control.

Warranty and launch will be fine. Several RS3 goosed their drive shafts as they were found not to be man enough. All replaced.

Reality, how many times will you use it once novelty wears off?

Yep, I have used it once on the GT-R in and owned the car 12 months. It can only take one launch to bork something though..

Good point, I never launched my 911 as there was always some ridiculous rumour of over revs and warranty voids. Why build these cars if you can't use them to the fullest??

Over revs on the Porsche is if you shift from fifth to first, you should have launched it as hard as you liked. Happy new RS 6.

It's very very easy to break a race car if you screw up. It's nots the cars fault if its abused. Just because you can do something doesn't mean the car then do it over and over.

Agreed however abusing a car and using it to the full potential are different. We as car enthusiast pamper and fuel our cars with the high octane fuel etc. However I've blown up a few Nova Sri's in my time trying to be a racing driver !!!
