Re: Akrapovic Vs Milltek exhaust...
Not going to lie, heard Dallas' Milltek/custom exhaust today and I might just have to go out and copy him. It sounds pretty spot on for the car (not too loud, not raspy like a Milly).

Re: Akrapovic Vs Milltek exhaust...
Akra Thoughts...
Two health warnings: I've only done 300 miles and noise is still changing (improving...), and most importantly - some will like it and some won't. It's not a stealth accessory...
No question it's louder than stock sport exhaust. A lot louder! Don't buy it if you're just looking for a subtly more tuneful sound. My immediate thought was that it would have to come off as it was too much.
The sound has definitely improved since then, becoming deeper and more tuneful, and I've got used to it. But, my car is fully debadged, Nardo. It used to be a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Suddenly it was more like 'move over, here comes a f@!king wolf..'
As you'd expect, it magnifies all the characteristics of the stock system, with properly tuned acoustics. So, for example, it actually cold starts without too much noise, but warm/hot starts are very loud. This is the opposite from the Brabus Merc I had before, but is just what I noticed with stock.
In town, or on and off the throttle, in sport or manual, or even just dynamic noise, I personally find the popping and banging over the top. (Same with standard system). However, with box in comfort around town, it's not much noisier than I remember stock to be
(It is also fairly noisy at 80mph on a constant throttle, unless you're in the mood. So on the motorway, I switched to comfort settings for some of the time).
As it works with the standard settings (no surprise as it's all an acoustic enhancement , nothing else). I've found found that 'auto' sound settings worked well for mixed driving.
Then the good bit - if you have room to play, or even just to experience full bore acceleration, up-shifts, the sound is fantastic. Manual, sport box, dynamic settings, and it sounds like a squadron of spitfires! It is a good, deep sound the rest of the time, and I'm sure that is going to keep getting better for a good few miles yet. A big, character changing, improvement already, IMO.
Is it worth it? Personal decision as it's obviously expensive. (Garage said it is top quality compared to other exhausts they have fitted, and it went on perfectly). It's worth the money to me, as it adds a lot to the car, and I definitely wouldn't want to go back. Will be very amusing with a trailer on the tow bar! I should have saved some cash by not speccing the sports exhaust from factory.
Lastly, I first made contact with Prestige Wheels, who can supply and fit, but who very honourably passed me to my closest dealer, Glenn, at Revolution. Great service from Glenn. (and Prestige are now on my "good" list for wheels).
Biggest downside - unless I now get a big, unnecessary, power upgrade, I'm going to feel a bit 'all mouth and no trousers...'

Sounds perfect!
Thanks for the write up. So from what you have said when in Comfort / normal auto modes it's not much louder than standard but significantly louder when valves are open in dynamic / sport?
Also just seen that Akra have also just announced a colabertion with Audi sport to make a Audi badged version for the RS6 and 7. I'm trying to find out if there are any differences but I expect it's just the Audi badge on the tailpipes and probably more expensive still!

Where have you read this? There have been pictures floating around the Internet for a while bit it was all rumours. A new set of photos surfaced last week on a light blue one. The exhaust was badged Audi Sport. Maybe its just a new carbon tailpipe that doesn't chip / corrode like the normal one?

Can also vouch for Dallas mod, low cost and sounds amazing.
I see Supersprint have an exhaust for C7 now. Only one vid but sounds pretty interesting and lots of options like Milltek.

Audi Poole had a photo on their Instagram page yesterday saying it was out very soon. Same tips as Akra but with Audi sport at the top and Akra emblem at the bottom.MikeFish wrote:Where have you read this? Hmmmm, that car on the Facebook page also has an alcantara steering wheel and gear knob and has a leather lower dash and centre console. Also wearing exclusive badges.
None of which are Uk options.

Guys
When you look at the tips page, it says the Audi Sport Titanium Exhaust System.... Maybe Akra a the real chosen ones for Audi; and therefore warranty?

Yes, although I might just have got used to it, and if they were side by side there would be a difference.Andy_W wrote:Sounds perfect!![]()

In any event, it's definitely still 'civil' in comfort/auto.
I can 100% confirm it is significantly louder than standard in dynamic/sport!

50 hp only with catback even with stock downpipes not bad, but as I know you no need to do remap if you just install Miltek non resonated catback and leaving downpipes stockLeo-RS wrote:
