Congrats!

Mine came with a Cobratrak, you get used sticking both the car key and tracker fob in your pocket plus it's obviously very useful if some scrote ever nicked it.

Probably delete the cobratrak because it means something more for robbers to hunt for, when infact you'd rather it went without any impact to the family

Yes this is my thinking. What is the procedure for disarming/removing it?

Any cobratrack installer should know where it is and be able to reverse it. Probably not a job for the feint hearted.

I look at it in a slightly different way...

There are in essence 2 ways of stealing the car with the key. 1)breaking and entering for the key 2)jacking

Given there is no visual deterrent, they will have no idea it needs an extra fob, all they will be interested in is the key.

If they have the key they will be wanting to get away as quickly, so, in case 1 I think the chances of them coming back into a house to find/demand a fob is very slim. In case 2, if they have the key you will have ample time to run away to safety.

The thing you need to do is keep the fob separate to your key.

Or just don't renew the subscription and leave the fob in the car

If it was fitted by Audi then it would be a waste of time anyway's. It'll be fitted in 1 of 2 places which the theives will find and remove within minutes. So I wouldn't re-subscribe and just leave it in the car and forget about it. I would then get another company to fit an additional tracker in a unique place away from Audi's standard places. Therefore if and that is if a thief does steal your car then they'd think they've found the tracker (Audi one) but in reality they find the DEAD one and the LIVE one would still be all good.

Good thinking!

I had my OBD port hidden today. Simply removed part of the dash and tucked it under. Also plan to get the front windows tinted ever so slightly, mainly to compensate for the limo rear tints, but it will also make smashing the window for access far harder (and tidier)!

Hasn't thought of this. Auto technician wants a couple of hours labour to disable it, so this way will be cheaper!

The car will still work without the fob

But if the car moves without the fob it will alert Cobra track who will call you

Just stop the subscription

If the subscription has not been transferred or renewed Cobratrak will be phoning the previous owner. Have you even checked if it is still active?? If not and it went out of subs with the previous owner then it will need an inspection before its reactivated.
It's not going to cost you any money or any running costs if you just leave it in your car. There is no point in paying for someone to remove it. It will even be a deal breaker when you come to sell the car. Most insurance companies require the tracker so the next owner will be happy it's already installed.

Thanks for advice, can't believe I didn't think of this. Yes I'm just going to leave the fob in the car and forget about it.
