Still as different to a standard F10 as the RS is to a standard C7 Eddie. Yes the Sport looks a little more similar than the SE, in the same way as S/S-Line look more similar to an RS than an SE.Eddie555 wrote:Now your picture was an Se model whereas I've chosen M-sport model. Now the difference is seen as similar. And the point I'd like to add is the M badging that BMW apply to every model which then makes it devalue the M in M5/M3/4 and so on. They are too carefree to badge every thing with a M badge and hence my opinion of lack of finesse. Whereas when Audi stick a RS badge on a Model you know that it is a RS and not a badged up wanna be.
BMW have M-Sport whereas Audi have S & S-Line. Totally agree this is dilution, but no different in that sense between Audi & BMW as they both do it & Audi have other 'specials' such as Black Edition & i think Le Mans (although Le Mans isn't a current model).
I do also agree that i don't like the M badging on M-Sport models, however it's still different to the True M's as on the M-Sport it's a badge on the front wings in the same vain that Audi stick S-Line on the lower front doors. I therefore see your point being that BMW use M-Sport & Audi use S-Line so it's purely the lack of the letter R on any badging as visually it's as easy to distinguish an M5 against an M-Sport as it is to tell an RS6 from an S or S-Line. Only a true M has a number following the letter M & only a true RS has the letter R before the S.
That said i'm moving on so less bothered & JLR have no M or RS range, although they do have R but not on the FFRR so it should not get confused with anything else JLR or anyone else manufacture
