Eddie, i totally disagree as the differences between the relevant vehicles are as obvious no matter which.
As per a different post, the obvious differences between the M5 & other F10's are many & include a totally different front & rear, different front wings with M5 side grilles, the trademark quad exhausts, a lower stance & wider track front/rear as well as flared rear arches. The only difference is the M5 has regular flared rear arches whereas the RS6 has them squared off so on the RS they look a touch more pronounced. Also the key visuals tell them apart such as wheels & body colour as both have specific colours available, albeit that can be opted for on the rest of the range for a premium.
Where i agree with your point is relative to numbers as most F10's are Saloons & the M5's are only available in Saloon form, whereas most C7 A6's are also Saloons but the RS6 is Avant only, so yes it's a little easier to spot as less Avants generally that saloons.
I don't think either car would be bought solely for their looks as they both look purely like a top of the range car from the specific range they come from but are still fundamentally similar to the rest of the range. I certainly don't think the M5 is a thing of beauty & i feel the same about most of the BMW/Audi range, however i also see both Mfctrs have dumbed down their premium cars by now offering so many of them, BMW only had the M3 & M5, but now have M-Sport & a plethora of M models 1M, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6 & X5M, Audi have the RS3, RSQ3, TTRS, RS4, RS5, RS6, RS7 & rumoured an incoming RSQ5 & RSQ7 along with many Audi Sport/S-Line variants, whereas a few years back it was just the RS4 & RS6. Personally i think it's a bad thing but many would disagree.
