lol no - but I do drive fast. Everywhere. And I'm in an Audi which gives me the right to stay in the outside lane 18" behind the car in front until it moves over. Apparently that's not good for stone chips :bigblink:
:thumb: You need an RS6, it says anger/get out of the way from even further back. Though it also tells you you're driving like a coont when too close to the vehicle in front.
Yes I had to disable the "coont light" on the dash in the RS4 the first day I got it. :D

I find it especially useful when I'm sending texts or emails......

LOL - for me forget the film, expect to paint it when you are upset with the state of it.

But that means months of peppered chins until it gets bad enough that you want to paint it. Wouldn't you rather have no stone chips all the time?

Do you know Mike - it's a tough question. But my iPhone hasn't got any sort of cover either; the other thing I have in my pocket is a best mate who runs a brilliant body Shop.

The other side of it is the times when I have painted the front end of a car it has usually been down to "<beep> happens", i.e. rocks, etc.

tell you what though, black I think is the worst for it - I must have repainted my 911 Turbo bonnet 4 times in 4 years? Basalt black was a pig for it.

The problem for me is I have no tolerance for stone chips. One would be enough for me to want to respray it. It glares at you like a slapped step-child.

And like I say. Getting it resprayed just to sell the car is daft beyond daft!

I hope the 'coont light' is not an optional extra I have forgotten to spec on my forthcoming PE (not that PE). It would be fitting that the car tells me off with that term of endearment rather than just my passengers or other road users.

Having never had film before but always upset by chips and tired of touching up and respraying I will be giving it a go this time.

Add to that that I've had the lacquer drop off an Audi without any assistance I'll take the spray booth over the vinyl.
You must be mad, I had the front end of my b7 done twice in 5 years, a re-paint will not fair well with stone chips
My b8 has done 20k now with only one stone chip on the front end. And that was before I had the film on.
Vinyl film has improved a lot over the last few years.
Why do so many people put them on super cars if a re paint is better?

So they don't get scratched in the garage. How many supercars spend their lives where they should be. On a track. Stone chips would be the least of your worries.

It's a fair point. If I had £1 for every supercar I saw parked up in the 'ring car park and not out on track, it would have paid for my season ticket lol

They never move. Only when they think not enough people are looking at them do they even fire the engine up.

Mike Hunt. This is my kind of humour. Is he going out with Anita Gofradump?

Does he work for "King Lifting" - I always imagine a silent ' at the start of that name.

Stop me now.
