The extra boost also makes extra heat which in turn makes cooling a pain, plus the turbo's location makes using a bigger Charge cooler (or even moving to SMIC's) a much bigger problem due to the lack of space to do so.

Yes but if you look at the M5 it has a CC per bank so loads of room for improvement. The m5 is 4.4 and runs 1.2bar standard will log mine at some point to see what the Rs6 runs standard

C7 RS6 Standard highest requested boost is 1.284 bar of boost. Most of the time it is requesting 1.2bar of boost.

Interesting Paul,

Was that a 4th gear 3000> pull?

I should be able to test Stage 2 boost pressure this weekend.

I have seen it beat by a Porsche Panamera Turbo, BMW M5 and Jaguar F type R AWD. Not to mention the GTR which left it.
M5 is a monster engine. I hate to say it but miles better then the Audi until. hopefully tuning the audi will change that.
Very difficult to compare the 2 cars as one you can pretty much point & squirt over & over again, but the other would take a some thought to get it off the line in a battle.

The obvious advantage for the M5 is its real world power/torque as this will apples vs apples be higher due to much lower transmission losses, however that can undo itself very easily with a botched launch which in this kind of weather is further amplified.

What is also interesting is the similarity in engine power/torque when tuned, as reading above what MRC are achieving with the C7 RS6 for Stage 1/2 it's almost bang on the money what the F10 M5 is achieving.

Totally agree with Leo that when rolling at higher speeds the M5 will really start to show it's advantage, however that may only end up being pulling the RS6 in if the M5 didn't launch well & you'd of course need a very long stretch of tarmac.

2.9sec 0-60 and 6.5sec 0-100, MRC stage2 figures. Doug reckons its still the quicker car as the C7 is more stressed at C6 power levels when i spoke to him.

Maybe, but the C6 is pretty prehistoric now, leaks from every orifice and weighs as much as the moon. At least the C7 attempts to go around corners.

the wight difference isnt as much as it feels.

I had a C6 loon which was 1950KG, the C7 is 1935KG, so realistically its the weight of child difference

The C7 is easier to drive well if your an average driver no question. The rack is much quicker and its more assisted, the C6 is more weighted and communicative. The gearbox is the C7 greatest asset helping it hit above its weight.

When I had the v-box on mine I did 3.4s 0-60 once, then seemed to sit at 3.8s pretty consistently for the next 5 or so launches. Nothing done differently the first time, must have just been perfect traction.

I did best part of five years in my C6. It's nowhere compared on the C7 on handling. The C6 just understeers, it's a flat track bully. The ZF8 is much better, but even that is pretty poor compared to competitors now.

Well if U managed to do 3,4 then that means that this car can do 0-100 in 3.4 even in this video driver of rs6 said that he did in 3.4 https://youtu.be/Wvcd-q6Qm5s

Has anyone come up with a better issue for the cooling on the tuned cars? Supposedly the standard charger cooler isn't up to the job in mapped cars?
