Yes indeed, exciting times as could release alot of extra power, the heat soak is killing this engine

I'll check with them for the turbo fitment.dasquade wrote:Nice.
Did they said what Lava turbo shield will fit our turbo?
The rest is doable but would require to remove several parts. I do think it all would benefit as audi didnt do much effort to cover most line, pipes or parts against heat.
There is always cheaper but not better, this is the best stuff out there. You'll be surprised what happens to temps when your full throttle !!dasquade wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2018 7:46 pmI did some rough measurements, looks 2 sheets 18" 24" for turbo's/manifolds and 1 (or 2) sheets 10" 36" for downpipes (depending how far you want to wrap them.
More or less brings it on +-420€ (or 610€)..hm :s. Getting pricey for just some heat insulation, i'm sure it helps a lot and maybe why audi cheaped out on that material. Prices are taken from ebay, 1/2 thickness (better thicker then do a half job).
The left overs would be good for the oil/coolant lines to the turbo's.
Interesting fact, but was recording some temps after the car was in garage for already some time...most stuff was around 50-55°C. The 'cold' side of the turbo's are aluminium if not mistaken, those were still 70°C. Fact is aluminium picks up and holds heat longer then cast metal, no wonder IAT before the throttle body gets so high.
Anybody knows 'cheaper' source?
