Sports exhaust query

Hi

First thing I’d be doing is soaking the flaps in wd40, just spray it inside the tailpipe

Make sure your valve plugs are properly connected too

If you run the car on drive and press drive select you should hear the solenoid firing when you go into dynamic and so on

(Looks like you need some black exhaust tips too lol..I have some for you freshly painted in black)

Many thanks, will give that a go :)

Didn't know that the standard system has valves too,

Hi James,

Now that you are the proud owner, you can register it on 'MyAudi' and then when you have it fully activated by Audi (I had to take my V5 into an Audi dealer to prove ownership), you will then be able to see the full spec sheet \ options. From what you have said I think it is just the standard exhaust. I think both would have the valves and the difference will be to do with the mufflers but I could be wrong?! IF it was specced with the Sports Exhaust then I think it would have had black tail pipes.

Also just had a look at mine and my valves at both sides are open, I think this will be to do with what mode you are in when you switch off. So if in Dynamic then they will be open, if in Comfort then closed, but again I could be wrong...??!!

Cheers,
Lig.

Hi Lig,

Thank you, ive downloaded the app, and set the car up, there's some of the spec there, I'll see if I can register it properly though.

Ah, that explains it then, I have my drive mode on individual, and the exhaust/engine sound set to dynamic all the time.

Yeah, I could be wrong tho'. Try it next time in comfort and see if it changes? (I will try it too)!!

On the App, its 'Equipment Details' and 'Optional Equipment' that you need to see. I could only see this after full activation....

I don't suppose a squirt of WD will harm (as suggested by Uplandsway), although this might just burn off as I expect those parts will get quite warm!

Cheers,
Lig.

I'll give that a go, strange that they were closed this morning, I had been on a drive in Dynamic mode on my favourite but or road so could have been from that too.

I must admit, when pushing on, it still does sound good, and certainly much louder than my last car, even with the standard system, this is with all the windows down though.

I've given both pipes a spray with WD40 too, just to make sure,

Valves are always open when you shut off your car. Install Miltek none resonated exhaust with stock Downpipes and don’t look back, sound better than any amg or Bmw

It depends what you call drone, for some people it’s okay for some not

Like I said earlier the APR Cat Back is head and shoulders above the Milltek ( I had one on my RS6 previous) in both terms of quality, R&D and also sound.

Maybe you had Miltek with cattles Downpipes, because if you put Miltek none resonated exhaust on stock Downpipes then it sound different instead of cattles Downpipes + Miltek none resonated
