I test drove the Merc before dropping the last RS6, July or August.
The cockpit felt big; perhaps aimed more at comfort and lacked the ergonomic feel of the Audi, the screens used for driver info and sat nav were amazing, if that’s your thing, I spend most of my time looking up and out of the screen, not down.
Sound/noise.... I had to get out of the car and ask the sales rep to rev it, it was ok, thats all I can say ok. Unfair comparison to mine as it’s not stock.
I didn’t push the car to its limits as I lost my bottle on every attempt, big car mentality certainly exists on these, ok I wasn’t used to the car but it confirmed for me what i take for granted, quattro, and it still does it for me, Merc may have had it on one test vs a stock rs6 in a straight dry line, but when corners and bends are involved, no way.
Ummmm, the new E63 is 4WD...
Errrrrrr yes?
4 matic they call 4wd on the Mercedes?
Ummmmm that ain’t quattro is it ?
Or do you suggest that both “4wd” systems perform the same?
I have a friend with a tractor that’s 4wd.
:bash:
lots and lots, no time served. It’s gets funnier, from yesteryears cars to ones due in months :piss:

Obviously it's not Quattro as that's Audi's trademark. What makes you think Merc's application of 4WD is any worse than Audi's?

My 911 hasn't got Quattro, but it's as capable as any of the numerous RS products I've had in the 4WD dept.

Powell knows the Merc is AWD, he was pointing this fact out to v8 omfg.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Likewise my Junior RS6 has got Haldex 4 Motion, but feels exactly the same as any Quattro car i've owned.

In fact a recent EVO head to head of the RS3 vs. Golf R had the VW's system as the superior on track & road, albeit i don't know for sure if the applications in those 2 particular vehicles are any different, however the RS3 of course has Quattro written all over it & the Golf doesn't.
