To be fair Matt, you have form for numberplate misrepresentation, here's your previous plate that you also posted on here to 'show off'...

Image

I'm sorry, each to their own, but that's equally (if not more!) as <beep>. If you post in a public domain in a bid to get responses you can/should be big enough to take all levels of feedback. It's not as if you posted about something else and somebody picked up on the plate, you posted about the plate specifically.

Personally I can't stand these sort of plates. Personalised plates are fine when they aren't butchered/misrepresented, but when you have to go to the lengths of misspacing, numbers for letters, changing fonts, adding bolts etc, just to tenuously 'show off', it all ends up being a bit tragic.

I agree with Kev and W8PMC I'm afraid but think they could've been a bit more diplomatic, I wonder how they respond when their wives ask the immortal question 'does my ar*e look big in this?'.

I'm not brilliant at Diplomacy, but thought i just gave my opinion & the reasons behind it. I wasn't offensive or rude & was purely mater of fact with my response/s.

If my wife asked me if her arse looked big in this, i'd tell her it did or didn't (depending on how big her arse was at the time & what wardrobe item she was considering). She likewise has no problem telling me i am being or i look a c0ck :biggrin3:

You do make me laugh, I mean who the hell do you think you are mr goody two shoes Image

not liking something is one thing but your approach is absolutely shocking and I think you think people actually listen or care about your opinion.

Do me a favour let's agree that you've made your case and cast your opinion but I really don't care about a single word that comes out of your mouth or typed for that matter. Let's also agree that we just avoid each other like the plague from hear on.

What has not liking chavplates got to do with being a 'goody two shoes'?!?

You do, else you wouldn't be crying like a baby when somebody calls you out for your vanity chavplates.

Fine by me, but in future you might want to avoid putting things here(sic) in a public domain in a bid to get your ego stroked, if you don't think you'll like 100% of the responses.

I repeat I really don't care what you have to say or for any recommendations you may have! My ego doesn't need stroking just good honest feedback put the right way and maybe with an offer of help and recommendation on what I should do is perfectly fine by me... its called forum etiquette of which you have none.

Peace out!

There are some situations in life when I've learned that honesty is definitely not the best policy. I don't get the number plate thing in any event, they usually just make you more of a target and easier to identify by anyone you may have inadvertently crossed on the road. I know some people are making a statement and some maybe want to hide the age of their car, it's fair enough but when I see a 10 year old Bentley with D4V FU (drinks in my local) or RS 51LTH I really wonder who they are trying to impress?

My neighbour (a doctor) has GP 51MON plate on his cars, I cringe at these things..I also wonder what type of people buy them.

Yeah I see your point I think it just comes down to the fact that we all have our own taste and when people's personal taste are respected and maybe challenged in the right way which could be productive then that's all good, we are all individuals and all entitled to do to our cars which we pay huge amounts of cash for what we wish.

Sometimes expressing your opinion and enforcing an opinion on someone and even reposting your car onto another public forum without the permission of the fellow forum member I believe is bang out of order.

But the point is Matt, you've asked for feedback on a fairly fanatic based Car Forum so should accept that many (i'm fairly sure), won't like the plate or what you've done.

Only a b3llend would pat you on the back & tell you it's awesome if they truly didn't like it, That said, i see countless b3llends on the roads nowadays & plenty of cringe worthy plates, i wouldn't however take time out of my day to approach them & tell them something looks/is <beep>, but if they asked my for my opinion i'd give it honestly.

I have several private plates & they're all just initial based (a couple also include day of birth) so are all displayed correctly & are personal to me & my family.

Perhaps you take the Internet a little too seriously & definitely don't post those plate photos on PH as you'd get ripped to shreds. You'll find the general consensus regarding falsely & illegally displayed/represented plates is uniform & the majority are haters, which is perhaps why the slight backlash & surprise why you find this strange.

You've said you're undoing said faux pa, so all's good & the plate presented correctly will look considerably better :beerchug:
