Mike', there's an excellent alignment place over in Dudley I've used a few times, if ever you want an alternative place to go to. They only do alignment and have plently of experience in all sorts of cars

Thanks Max. The place I use is good, I was just trying to find somewhere closer so tried kwik fit but I shall be sticking to my normal place from now on which is further than kwik fit but closer than Dudley. Thanks anyway.

How much do they charge approximately for a C6?

was a tad under £500 but mine took slightly longer due to a sized bolt - best thing is to give them a ring but be prepared for a long wait they get booked months in advance! beauty of this place is they will set the car up for you exactly as you want it to suit your driving style and what you wish to achieve from it. honestly I can't recommend them enough.

That wouldn't happen to be ALine would it? I had mine done today and they do an excellent job! They've done all my cars, M3, Alpina B5 and have always been spot on.

Mike, when you lower a car, it automatically adds more negative camber as can be seen from you alignment print out. You have -2 degrees up front and with that amount of negative camber, the tyres will suffer on the inside edges. Shame the front camber cannot be adjusted as somewhere around -1.4- -1.5 degrees would be ideal for fast road application.

At least they've managed to re set your Toe to factory tolerance hence you feel the difference.

The lightness that you are feeling is due to the lesser tyre contact on the road with the aggressive front camber. The KW's adjustable springs on the other hand will allow you to dial in the camber +/- from the height adjustment.

A friend who has fitted KW's on his C7 kept the front camber around -1.4 degrees and the rear's maxed out about the same for a good balance.
Too much power is barely enough.

I know all about negative camber from lowering and the impact it has on tyres from my B7. Thats why I ended up fitting the adjustable arms. I agree the KW adjustable springs will allow me to have less negative camber but at the expense of higher ride height. I'm quite happy to chew through a set of Dunlops and get some decebt rubber on, hopefully by then there will be a ser of adjustable arms available for the C7 otherwise I will be going through a lot of tyres.

It was not the negative camber from lowering that changed the feel of the handking though David, as lowering alone didn't make much difference, it was only after I had the alignment done, and as you can see the front camber wasn't changed during the alignment so it must have been the toe, or rear camber that made all the difference.

Incidentally, I was looking at the RS4 paperwork from kwik fit and it say A4/S4/RS4 2007 - B8 2MC
I think the donkey dicks have set it up using the B8 RS4 settings. I spent ages trying to find the paperwork from my old alignments to see if the figures they used were far out from the correct figures for a B7 but couldn't find different the old sheets (they are all in a pile somewhere ).
