Wind noise

First one I drove a couple of years back definitely had wind noise similar to how you've described, but recently had a 15MY car for a few days, and no noise at all

Not spec'd my car fully yet. I have 10 days according to the dealer. I cant find a reverse camera, can this only be bought with the parking system?

You have to order the camera as part of the Parking Pack (WC9 )The self parking part is quite funny though.

is the parking thing worth it, bearing in mind my wife will use the car for the shops etc?

The full top-view camera is well worth it - it's a big car with not very good views of where those wheel arches and the alloys are. The camera system allows you to put the car exactly where you want it. Brilliant.

The Top View feature has saved my wheels on a few occasions so a no brainer "option". Also very useful in multi-storey carparks...why the hell do they put kerbs at the entry and exit of the ramps! I guess some "designer" has thought that the kerb stops poor drivers actually striking bumpers/panels off the walls. Mind you if drivers are that bad then they probably should stay at home!

I know the 2 new bm's I have owned worked like that, Audi the same??

I've always been quite sceptical of the top view camera option as thought a rear view camera provided everything i'd ever need for my admittedly not great reversing, but had one on a rental BMW 550i recently, and have to admit it was very good indeed

Top view camera has been invaluable in recent weeks around some tight car parks and in general its much better than just the reverse view - also, it can be used to get out (front or back) of concealed drives/junctions. As for the parking option, it is handy, esp with the 21in wheels. My car is parked in the street and we do use it a fair bit and takes the pressure off, plus it can get into some pretty tight spaces.

I'd not have considered Surround View had i not experienced it 1st hand on a C7 S6 loaner a couple of years ago. Was the 1st thing i spec'd on my replacement F10 M5 & so glad i did as defo a must have option as far as i'm concerned.
