C8 RS6 finally revealed
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Just had a mail from my dealer to say the Audi configurator (he thinks) will be available next week build the RS
Though, I'm having second thoughts at a price point way North of £100k if the .de site is any indication. (My spec came out at 131keuro)- that's Aston, Benders Conti and other such stuff.....
Lets see what next week brings.......

Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Most important is: will new Rs6/Rs7 kicks ass to m5 and e63s Mercedes in 0-100, looking Audi official statements, it will lose to m5 and e63s, that would be big fail for Audi
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
I am in contact with my dealer to place an order but I want a decent discount.
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
they're going to have to come up with discounts pretty quick at those prices its £30k more than what a M5 competition can be had for, which is a lighter faster car.
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
What do you call decent? I think you'd be lucky to get much off a new C8 but could be wrong, previous experience leads me to believe you won't see serious discounts until a year or two after launch. However you cut it, it's an expensive car when set against an M5 after you factor in discount deals.
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Discounts will come, but they aren't going to be 30%. 10-15% with finance contribution and dealer margin is going to be ball park. It's strong money given competition at that price point. And a problem, in my view, given the service you get from Audi at that price point.
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
At those prices I'm not looking forward to this. I did want the new one (subject to driving it and making sure it's excellent) but may jump into an M5 comp, E63S or Panamera tourismo for much less money.
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Would you get into a comparable Panamera Sport Turismo though?
I ask because that is exactly where I’d go next if I can...
Panamera ST Turbo, RS6 (C7), Cayenne Turbo S (958), RS4 (B8), ML63 (2010), 997.1 TT, 997 4S, ML63 (2008), CL55, CLK320, Toyota Corolla GTi 16v, Honda CRX, Passat V6
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Dealer has just contacted me to say the RS6 will be live on the configurator on Friday this week. Dealers already have an internal version as confirmed above. Ordering therefore open at the end of this week. He also sent me a pdf specification brochure.
06 NOV 2019 Announcement
A trio of Audi Sport models are set to launch in the UK over the coming weeks. The powerful new-look RS 4 Avant, RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback will each come in three trims: base model, Carbon Black and Vorsprung.
The models will be available to order in November with customer deliveries in quarter one 2020.
The RS 6 and RS 7 are powered by a V8 twin-turbo 4.0 TFSI engine including mild hybrid drive, boasting 600PS and 800 Nm of torque. These RS models can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds.
The RS 4 is powered by a V6 bi-turbo 2.9 TFSI engine including mild hybrid drive, which produces 450PS and 600 Nm of torque. The model can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 4.1 seconds.
All three RS models have a top speed of 155mph (174mph on Vorsprung trims).
The exteriors feature the latest RS design language, including larger Singleframe grille, RS-specific bumpers, widened wheel arches (RS 7 Sportback benefits from this for first time) and RS Matrix LED headlights with darkened trims (with RS-specific sequencing when the vehicle is locked and unlocked).
Inside is the RS-specific Virtual Cockpit+ and MMI Touch with RS monitor, aluminium shift paddles, RS sports seats, RS flat-bottomed steering wheel and Audi Sound System. RS 7 Sportback is available for the first time with 5 seats as standard.
Carbon Black Editions
These striking editions gain carbon twill inlays, with front spoiler, sill extension and diffuser inserts in carbon too. Black Audi rings adorn the Singleframe grille, and the mirror housings and roof rails are also black.
Vorsprung
The top of the range Vorspung trims include a number of black features (Audi rings, mirror housing , roof rails, inlays) and are fully kitted out with an array of equipment, including panoramic sunroof, sport suspension, driving assistance tour pack, Comfort and Sound pack and much more.
RS 6 from £92,750
RS 6 Carbon Black from £100,650
RS 6 Vorsprung from £109,250

Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Found out a bit more around the specs and it's all a bit bizarre;
Standard Spec = 22 inch wheels available only in silver, only matt aluminium styling pack. If you want auto dimming exterior mirrors its a £150 option but you must add the city assist pack as well which is a £1350 option. This also applies to the Carbon Black Edition as well.
Carbon Black Edition = according to the configurator you cannot add the comfort and sound pack which means no B&O, advanced key, 360 camera. This may be an error but this is what its saying. Also gets grey interior styling pack as standard (lots of Alcantara). Only 22 inch wheel option is black.
Vorsprung - Only model with head up display, no carbon twill interior inlays as it is Fine grain ash natural grey-brown only. Only model with black exterior styling pack but only wheel option is 22 inch Titanium Matt gloss finish.
Standard on all the above are;
RS seats with Heating and Ventilation
Sports Diff
4 Wheel Steering
Laser Matrix LED Headlights
Privacy Glass
4 Zone Climate Control
Air Quality Pack
Lane Assist
Camera based road sign recognition
Extended LED Interior Lighting Pack - multi-coloured
To sum up if I want the black styling pack (which I did) then I have to have the Vorsprung version but I can't have the black wheels or the carbon Twill inlays (which I also wanted) so therefore I would need to get the Black Carbon Edition but then I can't have the Comfort and Sound Pack (B&O, advance key & 360 camera) as well as the HUD and have to pay the extra for the carbon styling pack.
This may all change by the time it hits the Audi customer configurator so fingers cross you can have some options on the above.
As I say, all a bit bizarre

Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Thanks for the dealer info guys, much appreciated.
If you fancy newer then it's 2019 GTS territory at 102k
Finally 2018 Turbo SE hybrid (15k miles) @ 110k
Last time I called up my local porsche centre to talk about new cars and discounts the reply was "we're Porche, we don't do discounts"
I'd go ex demo or low mileage second hand to get in at the right price. If you're willing to compromise on power and age, the lowest spec Tourismo for sale just now is at 72k (325bhp). There's and E hybrid (456bhp) for 75, cheapest v8 89k (542bhp, 2017 model).

Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Thanks for posting up some detail. I thought tan interior was a standard option but RSPhantom suggesting Carbon Pack (which would be my pick probably) is grey interior? I guess all will be revealed on Friday, but with people picking up new M5 CP's for under £80k it's going to take a lot of convincing, though I do prefer an estate. Maybe the new RS4 or an Alpina, can't get my head around the E63 and the equivalent Pork is £120k, with not a lot of discount.
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Does seem bizarre - maybe the restrictions on options will lift as production / tooling beds in.RSphantom wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 5:30 pmFound out a bit more around the specs and it's all a bit bizarre;

As I say, all a bit bizarre![]()
Also feels bizarre when you consider the competition. Aside from 4 wheel steer and the estate body when compared to the M5 - I don’t see much to differentiate the C8 RS6 from the M5 and the E63S - aside from price and looks!
For now I don’t feel compelled to trade in my C7 to any of the above cars but I may feel differently in the future.
In the future if the C8 RS7 goes the same way (on residual price) as its predecessor then I think an approved used 5 seat RS7 will be the pick of the range in a few years’ time for me.
What did I want the RS6 C8 to be?
I was expecting / hoping for a genuine plug in hybrid option, a car that would bridge the gap between today’s generation of petrol cars and the near term future.
Panamera ST Turbo, RS6 (C7), Cayenne Turbo S (958), RS4 (B8), ML63 (2010), 997.1 TT, 997 4S, ML63 (2008), CL55, CLK320, Toyota Corolla GTi 16v, Honda CRX, Passat V6
Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Just checked for you, your right, Black or Black-Rock Grey only. Cognac Brown interior only available on standard and Vorsprung models as standard but you also then need to add the full leather option for the Cognac Brown interior, that will be another £1k please sir!!!!Foxy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 7:58 pmThanks for posting up some detail.
