Don't pay any attention to the MMI values - the MMI will accept any value that the tyres happen to be at when you press the "These are the correct values" button. You could set all four tyres to 10psi and, if you press the "correct pressures" button, then that is what the MMI will tell you to inflate them to until you reset the display.

They are actual pressures, but the MMI won't tell you what the correct pressures are. you inflate the tyres to what the Sticker says, you tell the MMI "These are the correct pressures" and then the MMI tells you when a tyre deviates from the pressure you have nominated as being correct.

Other TPMS systems have a built-in database that tell you the correct pressures for the tyre size fitted, but not this one.

Thats what I thought. I was just making an (incorrect?) assumptiom that as they are fairly new and haven't seemed to have changed since I first picked her up that they might actually be set correctly.

I wouldn't trust it at all, to be honest. Like many A6 owners my car suffers from frequent MMI crashes that require a hard reset of the system. One day I decided to check the tyre pressures on the MMI and was horrified to find one of my tyres was 20psi. It turned out that every time the MMI crashed it automatically took the current pressure to be the correct pressure so my slow puncture went completely undetected. I had assumed - wrongly - that, because I had TPMS, the strong pull to the left couldn't be the tyres!

Happenings like this make me think its madness for car manufacturers to bin a cars dipstick and rely on MMI

Another sub £50k car hits Belfast today at £45k.

2013 car with 58k on the clock.

Just in case anybody is tempted to find out more, I can save you a bit of bother. It has the following spec...

21x9.5J 5-twin spoke titanium alloys
Phone prep - High with Connect
Adapt cruise/stop&go/pre sense
Rear View Camera
LED headlights with high beam assist

My guess would be late £30's as the price they paid.

That's the car I have just sent back. For everyone's info, mileage is now over 59700. When the MD at Belfast rang to apologise for all their cock ups, he told me they couldn't find an oil leak, so I presume they have put it back on having not fixed it, as it could not have been fixed this quickly. As you all know, Oxford Audi told me it was an engine and gearbox out job. Even in the short time I owned the car the oil level indicator at noticeably dropped. Slippery f*ckers!

Another bit of info, I got it for £43750 including a second years (aftermarket) warranty, which they had valued in the deal at £600, so anyone thinking of buying should be able to start at £43150.

When I had the car I felt the gearbox to be a bit 'jerkey', and now after driving my new one, I think it definitely wasn't quite right. Few stone chips on front, drivers seat bolster a bit worn but not ripped, drivers seat rocks a bit which I also presume they haven't sorted. Tyres & brakes are all good. Overall it's by no means a mint car, but if you could get it for a very good price, might be worth a punt?!

I thought you said that, having written the letter, the matter was closed. Seems not. Belfast may not have acted particularly well, but you are not exactly shining, yourself, now. Did the oil really drop noticeably whilst you had it?

Wildbore you seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder pal. The matter is closed with regards to my dealings with Belfast. But I'm giving the heads up to any potential buyers, which I think is the right thing to do. Of course the oil level 'really' dropped, what could I possibly gain by lying, and an oil leak was diagnosed by Oxford Audi which will be logged on the system!

Of course if you are in the market for a C7, go for it, it's a great example......
