2014 RS6 Purchase Advice Request

Post by Marcin » Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:04 am

Hi all,

I am considering the purchase of this RS6 (link below) as my daily/second car. Perhaps someone here owned this RS6 in the past? Please share your thoughts and comments.

Also, a general question on the C7 platform - Is it as bad as C5/C6, where you need to remove the engine for most jobs? Also, general watchouts for this generation.

I own an RS6 (C5), which, due to its overall reliability and parts availability, doesn't get much use. It's a car for dry summer weekends; I'd love something that can be used all year round.

Thanks for your feedback. The viewing is scheduled for Saturday

Hi Marcin - welcome to the fold!

I had two C5's before I got my C7 and there is a world of difference (improvement) IMHO. Mine is a daily runner and has done over 180K miles - it's a 2014 model like yours.

Not really had many problems (mine is looked after mainly by MRC Tuning) though the fact is that the engine bay is packed so many jobs need stuff removing to get at them!

I'm presuming that you are well able to inspect - do take a look at anything rubber as after 15 years these are the most likely components to fail through age not mileage.

Good luck

Dave
