Misfire on 17 plate Perf model

Post by repeat » Wed Feb 12, 2025 1:59 pm

I've read there are a few misfire issues out there on the C7 RS6 and my car has the EML on as well. I have an extended warranty and Audi have the car apart but can't find an issue with the camshaft, actuator or timing chain. they suspect the bolt holding the actuator has fatigue. Has anyone has this problem or heard of it? Apparently it was far enough out of alignment to have caused damage but they don't see any. they want to put the car back together and test. Fun fun fun.

I guess the first obvious questions are "when does this occur" and "what codes is it showing?"

Unfortunately don’t have that info. It was identified not to be spark plugs or coil packs as they switched them around.
Misfire on cylinder 8 with eml and start/stop disabled and limited to 4000 revs was all I got. It occurs right away on startup. Audi have the car apart at the moment.

Just to update everyone it ended up being a broken chain guide that caused it.
