Insurance

Quick one to see how people are getting on with their insurance premiums this year? Safe to say mine's gone up but not as much as i was expecting thankfully. I'm with Tesco and they have been pretty good.

Mine is now £1300 (was £640) two years ago.

12 years+ NCB, license over 22 years etc. The insurance market losses of the last two years are playing out!

£1900 is the cheapest I can find, strangely enough from Audi Insurance. On street parking overnight in a London postcode certainly doesn't help, even with a ghost and S7 tracker.

Managed to get mine with Tesco's at only a £100 increase. So pretty happy with that!

I've added the wife to my policy which helped bring the premium down! Not that she's allowed to drive it

Shocked to get my renewal through last week- £650 to £1175 !! having not claimed on any policy for over 15 years I maxed out my voluntary excess to get it for £900 but still not happy :bash:
Like Revilo above, shopped around and found others were even more!!! Did manage to get an offer on a comparison site for less from Saga only to then find they refused it at the point of purchase. What's driving this huge increase this year?

When I first bought the car 5 years ago (C7 PE) I think I was paying £650 per year (with 15+ years protected NCB) Currently paying just over £1000 but have had to Shop around each year to keep the premiums sensible. What's more frustrating is that I wanted to swap up to a 1-2 year old C8 Vorsprung but its effectively become uninsurable, cheapest quote I've had so far through two of the bigger comparison sites is £2500+ - and thats with noddy brands I've never heard of before. For reference, have also looked at a couple of M3 touring, and even though the purchase price is slightly higher than the C8's I've been interested in insurance quotes have been far more reasonable with a good spread in the range of £700-900.
