Higher Mileage C7's

Post by ShaneyB » Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:21 am

Hi guys, hope you're all well.

My PCP is up in October and I'm trying to decide if I should keep my beloved C7 PE or get something else (B9 RS4, Stelvio Quad, F Pace SVR or similar). Mine currently has just over 42k on the clock so really just wanted know how your cars have driven once over 'middle age'? Any known issues I should look at? How much does the extended warranty go up each year (mine has just risen £30.00 this year)?

I currently have around £16k equity in mine, depending on where I choose to chop it in.

I absolutely love the car but don't want to splash out on a money pit.

Any feedback appreciated as al;ways.

Cheers
Shane

I've just turned 70k miles. still under Audi warranty (£760 on 15k pa). Not put a foot wrong. Mpg seems to be getting better with age. Trouble is its getting very difficult to know what to replace it with and just can't justify the price hike to a C8 without any noticable gains for your money. Almost inclined to run it a few years more.

Thank you and agreed on the C8. Still like a GLC 63s but don't like the Merc interiors too much and it MUST have room to fit golf clubs, electric trollet and other bits in permanently with no seats down. My Mrs really likes the RSQ3 :bash: Bless her heart...

What do you think yours is worth now?

I quite like the RSQ3 looks, but I couldnt see myself driving one after the 6.
Value wise, the nearest 2015 FL one for sale on the market is £36k with 11k miles more on it in Ireland which always see to be a bit cheaper. If i got £37-38k it would still work out as a bloody good value car during my ownership. However even if it had 109k on it the cheapest is £34.5k!

I have come late to the game, lusted for one since the C7 came out in 2013. Bought mine with 69K on the clock in March, runs like a dream. Had the oil strainers done and DRC refilled under warranty.

Interior wise, it does show its age to the C8 and other cars you listed but exterior wise it still looks the part in my opinion.

The Stelvio or RS4 gets my vote if you did decide to swap

Hi mate you may want to consider the RS4 Comp that’s just been announced. Limited to 75 orders, should be a special piece of kit. Or could wait for the C8 Performance…

Sorry for off topic but did you felt anything after strainer was replaced? And for drc when it’s needed to refill. Thanks

Not a difference with the strainers done, just in my head its one less thing to worry about

The DRC though definitely, was knocking on the right front damper and rear left damper, as well as the ride being very bouncy. They recharged it and all knocking gone and ride is nice and comfy. This was done back in April and has been fine since, was surprised giving that the symptoms would point to a leaky system but I guess with the mileage and age of my car then degradation of the fluid would come in to play.

You may well have chopped it in by now but I’d say keep it. I made the mistake of selling a really nice C7 a few years back and after quite a few other cars have ended up back in a C7 PE. Nothing else ticks all the boxes. I went down the 4 route but for certain things it just wasn’t big enough. I to have looked at C8’s but driving quite a few I don’t think the extra cost is worth it.
I’m on my fourth RS6 now 👍😁😁😁

Bought mine at 15k - now on 85k
Wheels have all been replaced (21”) as they had all cracked - two of them twice.

Bushings probably need replacing now as it’s starting to squeak and rattle a bit

Mines just covered 62000 miles, no problems, just had oil strainer mod done, and runs sweet.
Up for sale as mrs want a new house.
