Afternoon
I found this tiny patch on my door (thought it was rust on first inspection) on my RS6 Avant (2016) and bearing in mind my previous car was a Audi A6 (2016) Avant which i owned for 5 years from new had no signs of rust. I took the car to a paintwork/paint Shop mate of mine who said yep that's rust. I was really shocked i had no idea a 6 year old car can suffer with rust! wtf. He recommended that i get straight over to Audi and ask them to sort it.
My question is does anyone know what the warranty is on Audi's for rust and also anyone else experienced their RS6 getting rust spots.
Thanks

Re: RS6 Rust spot
Its a common problem on exclusive colours so it seems. I believe the door skins are aluminium so its a corrosive reaction rather than rust. You will probably get the run around from your main Audi dealer as I think its a tough one to get Audi to cover under warranty, but if you push hard and/or have a good relationship with them they should sort it.
Re: RS6 Rust spot
Thanks for the sound advice. I have an inspection appointment on Monday for them to review it and to try and fob me off. I'll post an update on how that goes.
Re: RS6 Rust spot
There is a specific VAG tool used by the dealers to inspect this type of corrosion. Must be some sort of camera to check whether its been an external chip or if its stemmed from below.
Re: RS6 Rust spot
You might find that area has been repainted at some point even if you’ve owned the car from new as they get damaged during shipping. If you get a paint Shop to check paint depth they will give you the answer
recently saw a Sepang that had most of the panels down one side repainted based on figures standard factory paint 130 to 150 roughly. Repainted 250 to 600
