Coolant leak

Post by JxT » Sat Oct 23, 2021 6:50 pm

I’m c. 100 miles from home and have had a red light “stop now, coolant low” warning go off. Have parked up, and can unfortunately see a puddle of coolant slowly dripping under the car. It’s been motorway miles and not hit anything, so bemused as to what’s caused the leak.

Weirdly it seems to have coolant pooled in the vanity tray above the engine also.

I am quite a distance from an Audi dealer unfortunately. And it’s a Saturday night…

Is it a viable to fill up the coolant and get home, checking regularly to make sure it doesn’t empty it all out? Ie, limp home regularly topping up?
